I know that they are basically the same! That is the reason that I said that about them. I think that it is a chocolate and vanilla argument. They will both make way more boost than 99% of us will ever use.

Holy Triple post batman!

The real difference will be to see if using identically sized pulleys which one is more efficient and creates more hp. Even if boost is not equal.

I think i read on here that the 140 was a better street blower than the KB and the KB was more of a track blower. somthing about the way the power curves were.

Sorry about the double post. I don't know how I did that. Maybe, I am just stupid!! I am happy about one thing, I just got back from Big bear and got 16.9 mpg for the round trip. If I wasn't going 80+ on the frwy, maybe I would have got over 17. At $2.10 per gallon every little bit helps.
Tim, You are right on about the blowers. If they were not almost the same my statement would have not been correct.

Skip.

You are correct, Mecca...the 112 is a roots blower and the 140 is a whipple screw type....the clearances in the 112 are tighter thus allowing more bottom end power for the street, thus making it more streetable than the 140, which makes less on the bottom but tons of power in the middle and on top....

hey promod maby this is what jogged your memory?

Roots blowers will always do better on the bottom end. They are more efficient at 4-8 psi. Screws come into their own at 12-16. Although there's been a bunch of babble about clearances in the media lately, they have little to due with the differences between roots and screw superchargers.

you missed the point, this was a thread discussing wich blower had the best street manners, and even though the 112 works was a roots it was still better for the daily driver non racer.
as far as the works / kenne bell they are probablly close to each other.
