havent heard anything on the 140's where are the big numbers?
i cant find anything on them other than, "still working on the perfect tune"

A few monthes ago REM made a post on the Fla site that their race truck would hit the track in a few weeks. I think it has a 140, try calling them for the numbers.

So are you saying they went to the track a couple of months ago and nobody saw the truck and no one will post the #'s? It must have been a real turd...Especially since they didn't go to the Modular shootout...

for 3800 you would think we would see some numbers already unless it flopped

I have seen the 140 at REM with my own eyes. beatiful piece of equipment. The racetruck hasnt gone out with it yet. :fyi:

Ive got a $1000 burning a whole in my pocket that ill bet you the 140 makes bigger power then the KB at lower boost levels.. Flop my ass. People who have bought the 140's are the more serious and quiet racers who will shortly have their combo's tuned. Theres more of them out there then you may think.

The production 140s are just starting to ship now. The delay was because Works redesigned the intake casting to include an integral bypass. These blowers are not mass produced, they are hand built units with very difficult to cast and machine intakes, so it takes time to make them a few at a time. As for numbers, do a search for Calightning and you will find info on the progress of the prototype 140s during testing. His truck made 511 rwhp with 16 psi on a stock motor, and almost 600 rwhp with just a 2lb lower pulley and 3" upper pulley on his built motor. These tests were early in the 140 testing, but show the power potential of the Works 140. My own truck is also an example, as I went from 102 mph in the 1/8 with the Works 112 and spray, to over 110 mph in the 1/8 with the Works 140, the same shot spray, and the same pulley sizes. I'm sure you'll start seeing Works 140 numbers soon.

The guys I know that have them are all trying to push high boost and are dealing with the other issues that go with that. I note the guys who are pushing very high boost with the KB (JL for example) for the most part have been quiet probably for the same reason.

I know for myself the last few months dealing with the issues outside the blower have been very slow, and difficult because it's all virgin territory.

In addition:
Everything that should take one week takes four or more.
Doing it ... is one thing, doing it properly is another.

Id like my truck to run fast safely and NOT on the ragged edge. I think for the most part up to this point the really fast guys have been pushing the limits everytime they are out. There have been a lot of broken motors over the past 3 years in that top ten group.

Do you know which Modmax, Comp or Crower cam works best with KB blower with 25#'s of boost? Well I don't either, but some guys are swamping them in and out to find out. I think this is the sort of thing that is going on.

I just want to see some #'s.

are the 140s expected to come down in price at all to compete more so with the KB?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe I saw something that said based on the design..."or something" that the works and kb weren't really meant to compete. You can't really compare the two because of the design or...um, i will just go back to my beer now.

That is not true. The KB and the Works 140 are both twin screws and comparable.

The Works 112 (roots) and the KB and Works 140 (twin screws) are not.

Thats because a couple of douchebags are trying to stir **** up and the popcorn means its going to be interesting......


And for the price comparison... Well, i guess the Works could be more competitive if they also required you to use your stock intake rather than supply you with a rear inlet one to make it a true 140....
