And speaking of those rising gas prices....

Here in Westwood/West Los Angeles
(UCLA country) gas at the local Chevron Station has gone up about 15 cents a gallon in the past three weeks...now at 2.10 per gallon for 91 octane.

So that $33,000 is looking like a low end figure.

As usual, I'll play the skeptic.

MPG observations on anything other than a test jig or in a fleet where the driver's do not know that the milage is being monitored are next to worthless.

The plain fact is that there are too many things that can affect mileage -- the most important of which is the driver. I doubt that there is any device in the world which would not be observed to save gas. It's a self-fulfilling prophesy.

I'd like to thank the "Kings of Math" for doing the calcs of The Free KB via 1 mpg. I see I must either drive more miles(Weekly) or plan on keeping this truck for a few more years than I usually keep a vehicle.

Tim Skelton keeping stats(MPG) on you vehicle is a very easy procedure. Key Word.<<<<<Average>>>>>Not a 1 time event.

You keep tract of your fill ups (Gasoline Used / miles driven and equate MPG.
You don't need any special equipment ie "Test Jig", Nor do you need to alter you driving style.
All the driving variables <<<<<Average>>>>> in.

You missed the point -- people DO alter their driving style. That's usually why they get better mileage.

Driving conditions do vary but AVERAGING is the point

\ Throw a deck of cards in the air.....Alter the way you throw them. Count the # of face cards that turn face up. Do that 100 times. Now average your results. Repeat the process.

Pretty good investment, you're doing much better than NASA speaking strictly on a $ per mile basis . I hope I did the conversion correctly, wouldn't want another Mars probe to crash into Mars at the cost of our tax $$$.

You guys forgot a few things..............The present value cost of your KB today, is substantially different from your cost 4 years from now, in true DOLLARS TO DOLLARS..............furthermore, you can figure on an average inflation increase of about 3 to 5% annually, which increases your BREAK-EVEN timeframe by a small percentage!

Just adding pointless and useless facts to an already STRANGE/WEIRD thread.

Let me drive your truck for work and I'll get your money's worth in no time! I average about 60,000 miles a year just on my work car!

My 2001 grand prix has 123,000 miles on it right now, HAHAHAHA>.
