Free Kenne Bell

Are your sitting Down??
I own a 2001 Lightning. With every gas fill-up, I've always saved my receits and checked my gas mileage.
I've been averaging between 10 and 11 mpg. I recently added a Kenne Bell Blower.

WOW ater 4 fill-up ,I am now aver. 12 MPG. Thats a 1 mile per gallon savings.

Not being the best @ Math ......I was wondering if one of you Math type guiys could tell me. How many miles will I drive my 2001 Lightning to pay for My $3000 Kenne Bell investment?
And while you @ it.....How many gallons of gas will I need to buy(So Cal Gas is about $1.90 per gallon) to recoup my $3000?

To think with my new gas mileage my Kenne Bell will be paying for itself!!!!

Figure at 12mpg it costs $0.1583 per mile and at 11 mpg it costs $0.1727 per mile

So in a measly 208,421 miles you will have saved $3000

LOL I average 3 fillups per week at 20 gallons each, so that's like 3120 gallons per year. That's only 4 years! Hmmmm

1.9/12 = .1583 x 1.5 = .23745

3000/.2375= 12631.6

final number rounded off to nearest tenth

1.5 represents the difference between 10.5 and 12 gallons.

we have a 25 gallon tank
@11MPG 25 gallons gives us 275 miles
@12MPG 25 gallons gives us 300 miles
25 more miles out of a tank
25extra miles divided by 12 MPG we will say is 2 extra gallons it would cost you to get 300 miles @ 11MPG
2 gallons at 1.90 a gallon is 3.80
3000 divided by 3.80 is 790
790 divided by 25 extra miles gives you 31
you will have to fill up 31 times to equal out
31 times 25 times 12 gives us is 9360 miles

yes we have a 25 gallon tank, but i dare you to run all 25 gallons out of it before filling up.. lol

i fill mine up when the "low fuel" light comes on, and it takes 20-22 gallons to fill back up to full.

ps: i get 250-275 miles per tank.

Like St. Elmo's Fire said, take $3000.00 you spent on the KB and divide by 1.0 gallon at $1.90. You get 1,578 gallons, that's how many gals you need to save to break even. Hold that thought!

One 20 gallon refill with KB (20gals x 12mpg = 240miles)
One 20 gallon refill w/o KB (20gals x 10mpg = 200miles)

A difference of 40 miles or 40miles/200miles = 20%. Your truck is now 20% more efficient on gas.

So take 40miles of savings and divide by 10mpg(w/o KB fuel burn rate) 40miles/10mpg = 4 gallons. Your are saving 4 gallons of gas each time you refill, going from 10mpg to 12 mpg.

Finally, take 1,578 gal/4 gal = 394.5 refills to break even on a $3,000 KB at a gas rate of $1.90.

Only you know how often you refill your Lightning.

$1.90 per gallon
$3,000 Dollars for the KB
11 mpg
12 mpg

11/1.90= 5.789473684 miles per dollar
12/1.90= 6.315789474 miles per dollar
difference 0.526315789 MORE miles per dollar at 12 mpg

1.90/11= $0.172727 dollars per mile
1.90/12= $0.158333 dollars per mile
difference $0.014394 less dollars per mile at 12 mpg

$3000/# of dollars/mile saved = 208,421 Miles to pay off KB
208,421miles/12mpg = 17,368 Gallons to save $3000
17,368 gallons /24 gallons per fill = 724 Refills to use 17,368 gallons
1.90*17,368 gallons = $33,000.00 Dollars of gas to drive 208,421 miles
