Unhappy Questions about laser radar!!

just bought a new radar detector-top of the line solo s2 passport. I drive around town and lazer warning will not shut up-no police around. This is frustrating-any feedback or experiences?? LASER is the one we are supposed to heed immediately!

Sorry but Valentine One is the top of the line Radar Detector. The one you bought is supposed to be nice, but the Valentine is a life saver a thousand times over.

It shouldn't do that...

Odds are you're getting a weird reflection from somewhere.

Just so you know: The cordless radar detectors work for *(&%# I've never seen a positive review of them when compared to corded detectors.

Sometimes it's the only option, but if this is permanent, I'd go for the 9500 or the V1.

Well I went all out

because if you get a detection by your detector for laser, its too late already.. so I have a V1 and a laser jammer... got to be able to cruise with some peace of mind...

its the new M20 by the way..

Every review I have ever read on them says they don't work for nothin...Those were made by some company out of Colorado though and are the only ones I'm aware of.

Who makes the M20?

Rockie Mountain Jammers...

Used to be good until they got busted for being illegal. They've been coasting on the name for 10+ years.

Both the V1 and the Escort have active laser jammers than work, but both require permanent mounting for any effectiveness.

Cordless...

Cordless are great if you have multiple cars (and only one speeder) or spend a lot of time in rentals.

Otherwise, I'd ditch it and get the passport.

The only thing that makes a V1 better is the arrows that tell you the signal is to the front/sides/rear. Most reviews put them neck and neck for quality.

Hardwiring the passport is really easy (especially in our trucks), so don't be worried about that.

I have the Escort 8500 and mine would lasar false alarm upon heavy acceleration. I called Escort and they said they were aware of the problem and fixed mine under warranty. Certain sparkplugs cause interference. I don't know if that would apply to cordless detectors though.

For the most part, radar senstivity wise the only big difference between an Escort 8500 (or SRX) and the V1 is a religious battle.

You can't go wrong with either detector, just get the one you like the "extras" on more.
