You are correct sir.
Infra-red is not in visible light (ROYGBIV).

The only time it would be of use is a time you would not even need it, in a lot of traffic. Sure you’re in traffic and it may warn you but chances are your not going to be able to go over the speed limit anyway without weaving in and out of traffic. If you’re doing that it doesn’t matter if you have been clocked or not the office can still pull you over for reckless driving.

I would just save that money for mods or paying for speeding tickets and an increase in your auto insurance…
What a crock! If you're out on the road all alone and the cop hits you with instant-on radar or laser you're dead no question about it. The majority of the time you're in a line of cars and you'll here every one of them getting hit from a mile out (obviously depending upon terrain) before they ever get to you. I agree with what has already been said. If you don't see the value of a radar detector you haven't had a good one. V1's rock!

Dead when hit by laser, NOT TRUE

If anyone has watched a Motorcycle cop using a handheld laser gun, you will see IT IS A BITCH to hit a front bumper on the first squeeze of the trigger. If you listen to the signal tone emitted from the gun, you will always hear it intermittently, that's because he's looking for a solid reflection and a solid tone.
A solid tone means your right on the mark. That doesn't happen tooo often. Plus watch a cop using Laser, You MUST aim using front and rear sights of the unit. That means your cheek and nose is pressed into the side of the unit. IT IS VERY Uncomfortable to use.

So what I'm saying is, you have plenty of time to pick up errant signals, before your locked on to.

I have a V1 (is there any other) Hardwired to a "keyed" power
wire in my overhead console, the cord for the unit goes inside the tube supplying power th the automatic dimming R/V mirror.
the Remote module is mounted inside the O/H console as well.
Then a lead goes across the top, under the headliner, down the a-pillar inside the dash to my REMOTE READOUT, doublefaced taped between the speedo and tach. under the top of the gauge cluster. WHY would anyone want to have to take your eyes off the road to look up to the mirror area to see the reading.
I just drop my eyes two inches to check out the reading.
as the bird dog barks.
