and if i use ****'s registration as an indication of when he joined this message board than he missed out on the wealth of info all three of the main tuners used to throw around here and if you can remember the last time any of these guys have put their 2 cents into a post and then have so called members of the other team try to tear them down than you would know why they dont post as often as they used to on top of being at everyones beck and call 24/7 as some of us seem to expect them to. they just dont have time to sit in front of their computers as they are busy working on customers trucks or making or picking up product to ship out next day air.

If i was any sort of Vendor, messages boards would be the last place i would be wasting my time. I would be taking care if my customers and handling my business.

So comparing my post count compared to the supporting vendors was done for what purpose?

Hey ****, don't worry about the others here, especially Johnny...If 90% of the guys on here REALLY knew where johnny got his motors from and his whole story, boy would that be funny....The so called knowledge, HA, thats another good one...I'll leave the Lightning stuff up to Sal and Jim...

NMRA screwed up the schedule, plain and simple...Everyone have fun with the $300 payout in NMRA while the BIG MONEY will be up for grabs in Columbus at the Shootout...Hmm $300 or $2500, thats a HARD decision

The Mod shootout is geared mostly towards the Mustang crowd.

Last years Mod shootout sucked @SS! It was run poorly and all of the Lightnings that showed up were treated like crap. If you dont believe me, just watch the DVD that they made. L's get about 2 percent of the whole DVD coverage.

I dont care how much money someone puts up, when the event is run poorly and even Dave King doesnt know whats going on, its just not worth it.

I was there at 5am to get setup, and everyone on the Mod shootout crew looked hungover and knew nothing about nothing. I wont show up for another one, thats for sure.

Dont forget that huge payout he's promising is contingent.

WHAT DO YOU GOTTA HAVE

Sounds like someone lost in the first round and is a sore loser or someone who didn't even race at all, typical

As far as JDM's payout, that is all GUARANTEED...I'll say it again for the slow folks here, $300 versus $2500...I know not everyone here is a math major, but this is simple, more Lightnings will be in Columbus for the Shootout, you can BET on that one...

By the way, ask NMRA where Billy Glidden will be this coming weekend...

Wow! Sounds like someone has some personal issues they need to resolve. The DVD was broken up evenly among the classes. In fact you saw more rounds of lightnings than you saw passes of John Mihovetz going down the track. Sal, JL, and Beefcake were all interviewed as well as having every round coverage for the lightning trucks.

The Modular Shootout is about more than Modular Mustangs. Last year there was a big turnout in the Lightning truck class, turbo diesel class, and All Ford brackets. This year we added an all Ford Drag Radial class as well.

How did you get setup at 5am? Gates didnt open till 8 am each day.

Johnny Lightning and Sal will back me when I say that the payouts were very fair. I did what both JL and Sal asked as far as payouts.

The payouts that were posted last year were advertised as contigent on car count. I can put last years site back up, and show you the advertised payouts. NO smoke or mirrors. This years payouts are guarnanteed. If you have a problem with the Modular Shootout, I would have been more than willing to listen or rectify any problems there were.

Both Johnny and Sal were happy in the end, and they aren't back this year because of the NMRA confliction. I have good relationships with JL and Sal. They felt that the event was good and that the racers were happy. If you don't believe me ask them.

As the longest sponsoring vendor of Lightnings at he Mod Shootout, I've been through all the trials and tribulations that this event has endured since the beginning. I feel that last years event was the best to date. I was very happy with my sponsored class, we had close to 30 trucks running in it, and everyone had a great time from the people I talked to. The format did get screwed up (it was run on standard bracket instead of Open Comp), but that was the tracks fault, and not the Mod Shootout staffs fault. As for the payouts, it was made very clear that full payouts were based on class car count. But even with that rule, the winners of my class were paid MORE than they technically should have gotten, which was my request, and Dave King complied with no problem. It's a good event, that's had it's growing pains over the years, but IMO it gets better each year. I think anyone who attends will have fun, no matter who's sponsoring it.

For those that are interested my original comments were taken
from a private email. It's sad to see this private email go public. I will stand by my original concerns in the context as I originally made them.

With that said, I talked to JL last night around 10:30 pm. We straighten this matter up between the two of us. Again the matter
was private.

In conclusion I want everyone to know that I believe JL. He's a good guy. The comments were based upon circumstances that led me to make a conclusion from another board.

Its cool Jeff, NMRA has kicked the west coast to the curb and until they change and support us, they got nothing coming.I still would like to show up at Dave's shindig one of these days, but the drive is just to far. Maybe someday

I have the DVD from the Mod Shootout and every year it gets better. I didnt see anything unfair regarding the shootout.
