Magnaflow On! W00!
Magnaflow On! W00!
I got it Friday and had it installed Saturday morning at a local muffler shop. It looks sharp and even sounds sharp. The only problem is, I had an exhaust leak before this. Coming from the passanger side in the middle of the truck. I told the place about it and asked them to look at that while it was up. They said their wasnt' any leaks. But now when I drive, the exhaust is loud, but so is the leak! It drives me nuts and makes me feel all weird because I have this nice exhaust rumble then my hissing noise from the exhaust leak.
I had my brother look under the truck while I revved a bit to see. He said it sounded like it was coming from up near the headers/cat area. How hard is it to tighten/replace maybe? the headers? Or should I try another muffler shop before I do any of that? I thought they would just be able to quick weld the leak, but they said their wasn't any. :/

I'm assuming 'Headers'
Not the heads. Hehe. I will put it up today and check that out. Hope that is it. I love the exhaust sound now and I don't want that annoying hiss!
Thanks again **** for the exhaust! Worked great and looks great. Maybe i'll take a couple pics and post. Thanks again. (Hope your the same ****)

Heads bro, Cylinder heads. There is a TSB on this. Check for signs of oil around the exhaust manifold. If you get all the way under the truck as if your changing the oil and look up towards the back of the head, you will notice it if it leaking.
BTW. Im not the same **** who sold you the exhaust but i know Larry and he is a well known dude in the Harley world and makes the most impressive exhausts setups ive ever seen for a Harley. I think his 03 Lightning has maybe 500 miles on it if that.

I would think that your problem is at the collector off the exhusat manifold - where it meets the cat converters. Loosen the two nuts - which are 9/16 I believe and then re-tighten.
This is not a problem with your passenger side head.

Alright. Thats where I thought it was coming from, near the cats somewhere. When I was under doing my tranny (shift kit), I could of sworn I seen a little hole somewhere. And I think that is where it was. Thanks! I'll be checking this out when I get home from work.

CHECK YOUR HEAD while your down there playing with your bolts. The ticking can very much be your cylinder head like mine.
I need to have mine fixed as well. For some reason the damn shop that just did the heads for me did not fix it while it was there. They knew about it and even pointed it out to me right beofre I left and the truck was still on the rack. My drivers side flange where the manifold meets the cat pipe is supposedly bent and the bolt is stipped. How it got this way I have no idea.
I jsut couldnt wait any longer to get the L back. I was rentaled and borrowed out, I needed my truck back and now it really annoys me. Does anyone know if I could take it to a exhuast shop if the flange can be replaced or do I need to buy the whole pipe

Is there a certain spot that leaks due to a leaking cyl. head?

i have black soot around my mid pipes from the moisture, but not a leak.
Check the back side of your cylinder head for oil.. Passenger side.
