I prefer the painted rim look. Chrome is way to common. Its good to go with something unique. I think if you throw some blackouts and black euro tails that thing would be awesome. Its already sweet though.

Looks good.

But you paid a lot! I got my wheels sandblasted and coated for $40 each!

Great idea. I heard of a red L with black wheels around here, but I've never seen it.

I powder-coated my stock '01 wheels black a few months ago. Looks killer on my black L.

At Fabulous Fords Forever show in SoCal, I had guys with chrome stockers and aftermarket chrome 22's & 24's on their L's & F-150's taking pics of mine. Compared to theirs, mine has no flash at all. Just black w/black wheels, lowered 2/3.

Future plans include getting the '01 replicas in 20" and doing the same thing.

What color powdercoat did they use and how did they do the wheel's plastic centerpiece (the piece with the 'SVT' logo on it)?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

The wheels are a very dark grey. I do not know the exact color name. I looked at some sample and chose that color. I apologize. The center caps I painted myself. Simply taped off the logo, bought some duplicolor and clear, then sprayed away. The are not a perfect match but don't look bad(caps are a little darker). All in all I think it came out great! Except my tire guy scuffed the lip on one a little. I don't wanna bust his ***** cause he helps me out big time. -Mat-

And he STILL works there ???? LOL .... Yeah, it's hard to
find good help anymore ...

My tire shop treats my truck very well. It is lowered, so they
hike it up on 2 x 6's to get the lift under it. They always spin
balance and use the adhesive wheel weights, and always
torque the lug nuts by hand ... They are first rate and have
been in business for like 50 years here in Lexington.

If you need rims/tires/alignment by a racing knowledgeable
shop, I strongly recommend Ashley Wheel and Brake ...

Your lucky to have found a place like that. I always say "TORQUE WRENCH MY LUG NUTS DOWN" but I've caught guys impact wrenching wheels back on my truck. Good thing there easy targets beening kneeled down like that.

This was a pic of my '01 a little over a year ago.
I think you should sand the edge of the lip down to metal and polish it. Breaks the dark wheel an dark tire (nascar look some call it)
