Thought these things were fast

Ran my stock 03' L last night after airing down the rear tires to about 25lbs and also pulling the boost bypass, hitch, spare, and jack out. I do have a stereo and snug lid which pretty much makes up for the weight I pulled off. Anyhow, it was about 75F with 30% humidity and the best run I managed was....

60' 2.307
330 6.130
1/8 9.243
MPH 79.18
1000 11.943
1/4 14.229
MPH 98.58

My best 60' out of 6 runs was 2.23. I was under the impression that a high 13 was more typical. Am I about on par for being stock? Is Dark Shadow Grey slower? Could you fellas reccommend some cheap, warranty friendly mods to get me firmly into the 13s so I can actually wear my damn helmet and not look like a poser carrying it around

Drop the 60' down, and 13's should be no problem. Work on your launch a bit.

What was the humidity like on that day? Whats sea level for the track where you were at? Like mecca said, it sounds like your 60 ft is just off and u gotta control ur launchin better, 13's shouldn't be a prob for you with a better 60 foot.

Whittle away that 60' and you should see a high 13.

your 60' times are a bit high. what is the elevation at your track? some drop shackles will help with weight transfer and will drop your 60' times. you need to practice your launch.

.1 in 60' = .2 in your 1/4

500ft. Is there some trick to the 60's on F1s? I tried flooring it and rolling into it and ended up with a similar 60' each time.

hold the brake and run the RPM's up to 1100. light goes green. start slowly rolling into the throttle and then just mash on it about 1/2 way through 1st

DEUS

I have the same L and color. I only have 450mi on mine. I'm waiting to break it in before I hit the track. I am going to buy an airforce one filter and a superchips micro tuner. That way I can bring it back to stock with no tell tale.

Its hard to find 93 octane in california now a days.....Most of us californian's, especially the southern cali L owners are usualy stuck with 91 at best. Sometimes you can find 93 but most people have to travel quite a distance to find some race gas which I would guess is the reason most make their own.

ya most of the 93 and up octane in cali is by the lakes and stuff for the HP boats... ya you'll mostly find 91 here which sucks

I pay $1.89 a gal here in Vermont for the 94 octane. I had a 2000 f150 w/ a Kenne bell blower the higher octane made a big difference. I have to get more miles on my L before I can see were I'm at.
