Upgrading my 2000L
Upgrading my 2000L
Need to make some decisions fairly quickly, so I can acquire parts! An expert( according to SVTOA guys locally) is going perform some tricks which I'll elaborate privately, if interested?
90mm MAF & boot: dealer parts guy couldn't tell me which part numbers I need? Get 01,02, or 03? Any differences? Correct part numbers? Best source & price for new? If I could find one used, are part numbers stamped on them to confirm "correctness"? Concerns & what to look for if buying used?
4 lb pulley: Thought I might as well get interchangeable one, in case I want to go to 6 lbs later? Don;t all the tuners sell ones actually manufactured by someone else, Metco, etc.? Advantages of one over another? Forget "cage" question. If I can find one used what should I look out for? Corrrect diameter/circumfrence for "true" 4 lb?
Plugs: Guess I must change them? What plugs will give good performance, but also really last (don't expect 100k like stock) Probably no strip time, but rare aggessive street driving? Brand, model, gap for these conditions?
Thanks for any help!

I'd get NGK TR6s for 4 lbs or NGK BR7EFs for 5-6 lbs of extra boost. My BR7s have been in about 29,000 miles now and I just got 15.16 mpg out of 3 fill-ups so they're still 'working'. They do misfire(mildly) at low rpms but are a damn-fine plug.
D/k about the MAFs.............

Thanks for response! Would your 6lb plugs also work on 4 lber, or do they need to be changed when going from 1 pulley to another? You seem to be getting long life out of yours, but it's maybe because you just baby your truck all the time, heh, heh!
Ok which 90mm Maf & boot do I need: 01,02,or 03? Part number please? Again. best source & price for new? What to watch out for if buying used? C'mon guys, search didn't answer this!
Thanks!

Got some updated info, but more questions
An SVT tech that has excellent rep says I should get 01 MAF & boot. How much should they run new, best source/price? This same tech who owns modified '99 says he has run on original plugs on 4 lb pulley, but since 6# he runs Motorcraft "coppers" that he says are good for 30K. He says NGK, Denso, etc are just "snake oil"? As I said he has rep in SVTOA community as a great tech, but this contradicts everything I've seen on this board?
Plus, he says ther's no way to tell if 90mm is good until installed in truck? Know it's easy to damage wires, but might not be visible?

He installed my 4lb pulley not too long ago and Kenny another tech installed my NGK TR6s.. he recommended I use coppers also but I didn't know where to purchase them and haven't really heard too many problems..
Whoa! NGKs are copper(excluding their Irridiums):

Jake: I have a 5 lb pulley and since the NGK BR7EFs have a slight misfire(at idle/low rpms only--NOT at WOT), I don't know if I'd use them with a 4 lber???

Dan, do you measure your "consulting"
in terms of beer? If so, I must owe you at least a case by now? Thgis forum says 2# ok with stock plugs, but a 4# needs colder ones--in spit of what this tech says?
If you're getting a 90mm maf, why not get the MAF and smooth intake tube from REM so you have some bling with that go?
