around here they call it "exhibition of acceleration" and its a whopper..

havent gotten one yet, came close in my last car, 96 Firebird, got it half sideways coming out of a parking lot at school, offduty campus police officer chased me down in his civillian Taurus or some sh.it and waved his badge out his window to get me to pull over

he must have been in a hurry to get somewhere, all he said was some smart *** remark like "I bet your mommy and daddy arent happy paying your insurance, I bet you have a helluva record"

I say, 'actually officer, I gurantee i make more money than you and I pay my own way 100%, and my record is clean'

"yeah well slow down"

I nodded, smiled and he handed me my license back

I like your idea, but I "think" any restriction of air flowing thru the heat exchanger is bad. I just bit the bullet and mounted the front tag on the bumper, installed the larger JDM heat exchanger and mounted fans behind it. Can't be to cool during those 90 degree days

I gotta agree here. That DSG looks really great in that shot.

Just think how much negative attention you would get if you bought RED!

As a former smart-*** punk with a DMV rap sheet as long as a Lightning and now much wiser 40-ish lawyer, I am very hesitant to argue with a cop -- ever.

But I would fight a ticket for accelerating too fast all the way to the Supreme Court. Unless there was tire squealing, sideways behavior, or something of the like, "accelerating too fast" is unconstitutionally vague. Where exactly is the line? If it is solely in the judgment of the officer, it doesn't pass constitutional muster.

As a citizen, I have the right to know what is being expected of me. If that cannot be objectively articulated, then f*ck you officer -- see you in court. That cop would get the cross-examination of his career.

Don't ask how I know it's "excessive acceleration" in KY ... <grin>

Got it written down to defective taillight ... I love young, pretty,
female assistant DA's ... I must look like their grandfather ...

Thanks for all your replies. I am trying to slow down but it's like not having sex for along time, (I drove a Taurus for three years, I deserve to speed) I have to let it go sometime. Have a good Memorial Day weekend, and remember what this weekend is about.
