track results

Went to the track last night to test out the L. Its an 1/8 track, my best time was 8.19 at 83.75mph with a 1.77 60ft on Nitto DRs. I was hopeing that with the mods I have it would have done better. 2000L with JLP 5# lower, JLP 2.7" upper, JLP Diablo w/race program, 90mm maf w/12" filter, stock exhaust with no cats, elec. fan, NGK TR6s, 3:73s, line mod valve, trac-bars, Nitto DRs, using 111 race fuel mixed with 2 gallons of 91 gasoline. What is missing? Are these normal times? Will it do better with some longtubes and Drag slicks? It was 84 with a little humidity.

CONGRATS
AND WELCOME TO THE

These runs were all made with filter-chip-n-4lb pulley on pump gas, and a extremly mild tune.
So ya you should be a little faster, but on any giving day, we have a good 3/10ths hidden depending on the temp, the cool down, and the track prep, so all and all I'd say you did good.

CONGRATS S Cal L

Of course if your not happy, you can put $500.00 into it push a button and squirt 65 HP of Juice and change those times into
(2) 12.0's with the identical setup on the same day

I have No Tranny Mods, Stock Exhuast, Stock Fan, Pump, Suspension, etc....

S Cal
I should note, #61 was our own Gator Whooping my a$$ time after time after time THAT DAY

BUT WE WILL MEET AGAIN MY FRIEND

If you were hot lapping on a 84 degree day.
Go back with slicks in the 50's, let it sit an hour,
and you will be @ 1/2 second quicker

It doesnt get that cold here in Calif.

SoCal L - I would say those times are good, considering the conditions..

WHAT it'll be in the 40's tonight here

I will say this S Cal
My first season I couldn't do better than 13.1 - 13.3 with Filter Chip and 6 lbs of Pulley in the Summer Heat. It wasn't until that last race of the yr on a cold day with 4lbs after a long unexpected cool down (clock broke for over an hour) that I got my 1st 12 sec run. So I'm with Dale, for your conditions, YOU DID GREAT

But if you ever see a cold day coming, go to the track, cool it down, AND WATCH WHAT HAPPENS

I guess I should rephrase myself

It does get that cold in SoCal... but not where any of the tracks are... And when it does, its never when racing is going on

Every once in a while that perfect day will come around, but of course those are the days the truck is being modded, or you have a hangover, or other committements or something

Oh well

Those are respectable times considering the conditions you are forced to work with. However, its a necessity to have slicks on any of the so cal tracks. I was running 8.4's last night at Irwindale which is a 1/8 with a 4# lower, chip, filter and VB. I run full dress, including tonneau.Track prep wasnt all that hot. I was cutting horrible 60's, like 2.00 and 1.97s. The power is there for you, all you need to do is get it to the ground.
