Stan, couldn't we sign a release of liability so that you're not at fault in any event??
Disclaimers of personal injury liability for the sale of goods are almost always invalid, so the answer is yes, but it still won't work.

But the disclaimer may [edited] be effective for the sale or gift of information, as opposed to parts.

That would let Stan do complete directions and a parts list without liability?

Tim you are rite.I have a corp. but the lawyer said you still can break the pail. Also checked into insurance and the cost is HUGE basicly almost the cost of the parts them selves. As for peopl who will have them on their trucks YES THEY do know. But who is going to install them?the owners or are they going to a shop to have that done? That is the big reason.I would not have a problem selling them IF I knew for a fact the guy installing and aligning them KNEW what he or she was doing and how to install correctly.Stan . . .
Piercing the corporate veil (i.e., going after the shareholders) is extremely difficult and should not be a significant concern. Courts realize that the SOLE function of a corp or LLC is to prevent the owners from being personally liable. I have seen piercing tried on many occasions, but I have never actually seen it work.

Although as mentioned above disclaimers of personal injuries are almost always invalid, maybe you could have a release in which the purchaser promises to have the kit installed by a competent alignment shop.

I mean, Steeda and other companies sell such parts at a reasonable price, so it can be done. Maybe they just get better product liability rates for doing such a large volume.

I hesitate to give a definitive answer to that. Not because I am not sure, but because that may cross the line into giving actual legal advice, which I cannot do under these circumstances. Sorry to be evasive, but the rules of ethics require it.

But would the bolt and shim stack work? That looks like it would take a lot of the fabrication time of the project.

I realize what can happen to you Tim and I appreciate the words so that other can understand my concern.
As for the shim stack that is what has to be done.I made 8 different shims in varying thickness to get to the most acceptable combination. But like I said before and I can not say this enough.Ask who ever is going to do the install and align what bump steer is and how to correct it.IF they can not answer those questions find some one else who can. That is the person you want to do the install for you.Worry about price afterwards.

Stan's previous advice to me on the subject is sound -- try to find a reputable RACE shop. There is specialized bump steer equipment which makes the job of setting BS more precise and reliable. Just because someone says they can do it does not mean that they can do it well.

Fair characterization of your warnings to me, Stan?

Hello, please put me on this long list as well. I'll definitely buy the kit if it was designed/built well and accomplished it's objective.
