Thanks stan

Good to see there is some interest, now when i get back from NJ I will do some more research. The pic stan posted will sure help me.

Stan if you get a chance give me a call at JDM tuesday or wednesday.

Thanks all for all the replys. If a few of us do this mod, we will have to sare our suspension setups, ride hights and allignment specs we come up with.

So true and the sad part is I run at sustained speeds well over the legal limit and feel that what I built would work perfectly for the street and do it with more than enough safty built into it.But there are ambualnce chasing lawyers out there that would take the case even thou it was not the fault of the kit just to try and get a settlement out of court.THAT is why I will not offer it.Not because it has a flaw or is not designed well since I know there is a safety margine built into it and have proven that but not on purpose.Stan

I hear you, Stan, but it's just a matter of degrees. For those lawyers you describe, you are far more likely to get sued over brake parts than steering pieces. Especially when the only people who would buy the bump steer kit are very educated consumers who assume a certain degee of responsibility for how they install highly specialized race-only parts -- as opposed to some schmuck who drives to the corner tire store to get new shoes with 50,000 mile oil that is 2 quarts low.

As an attorney who also makes motorcycle parts, my advice to myself is (1) form a limited liability entity (corp or LLC) and (2) get products liability insurance. Then make whatever the hell you want and sleep well at night.

But then again, knowing what I know now, I wouldn't sell seat covers without the above.

And anytime if the truck has been lowered. With a1.25" front Hotchkis drop, I feel bump steer big time. I am going down to a 2" front drop with a-arms, but think that the BS is bad enough that I don't want to go lower until BS is solved.

I spoke with the Steeda guy at FFW and he seemed to think it would work, but wanted to try it out first. He took my name/number down, but I need to call him to see what’s up.

I may just break down and spend the $150 just to experiment.

Dumb question, has anyone actually moved the suspension through its full travel to see what the adverse effects on the alignment specs actually are...

I am sure someone has a graph here that can wip it out and show the details...I would think that in a corner one tire is going compression and the other is going through extension...Straight line they would both be going through extension, braking just the opposite...

Anybody have the details???

I am very interested in this kit also.
I also have dropped my front 2" with a drop A-Arms and looking to go lower with a spring now.

Tim you are rite.I have a corp. but the lawyer said you still can break the pail. Also checked into insurance and the cost is HUGE basicly almost the cost of the parts them selves. As for peopl who will have them on their trucks YES THEY do know. But who is going to install them?the owners or are they going to a shop to have that done? That is the big reason.I would not have a problem selling them IF I knew for a fact the guy installing and aligning them KNEW what he or she was doing and how to install correctly.Stan
As for the steeda kit no it won't work due to the shortness of the rod that they use.

You can count me in!

Stan, couldn't we sign a release of liability so that you're not at fault in any event??

The amount of movement through the travel range is huge. I do not have it graphed so I am going from memory. If I am remembering correctly I had a total of an inch of movement from toe in to toe out. It was worse under compression than it was under rebound. The way I did this was to remove both front coils, reassemble everything and support the front of the truck with a floor jack. I raised the truck to the premeasured ride height and set my measuring bars in place. I then lowered the jack until the suspension was on the stops and measured again. Then I raised the truck and remeasure once again. It's ugly how much it moves.
