Best Alarm?
Best Alarm?
Who makes the best alarm systems.
Between my L and Teris Cobra we are looking to upgrade alarm systems.
What works? Whats new? What do you guys recommend.
As always I trust the scrutiny you guys put into this stuff.

I like my Alpine SEC-150R. You can add lots of modules, pager, etc. Dual stage radar too.
Then get a wireless surveillance system.
Then either a Fence Finder, Louisville Slugger, or maybe Smith and Wesson?

I have a viper alarm - about 5 years old with a dual stage shock and a prox sensor wired in. The alarm will chirp if you go near the vehilce but if the window is open and you reach in the alarm will go off.
I've seen some new ones (more $$) that will actually signal your transmitter if your alarm goes off.

Best alarms by far are offered my DEI.
If you want a bastardized tracking unit using legacy technology, then by all means, adopt a Lo-Jack.. However, since you seem to treat your vehicles with the highest care, i strongly suggest you go with today's GPS tracking technology. If you need any information on elite tracking systems, feel free to ask.
Lo Jack's stats for recovery is a complete joke, just as their technology.

Tell me more....
What is this DEI you speak of.
BTW- If somebody steals it , I do not want it back. I do NOT want them to steal it in the first place. If that helps in deciding which brand to use.

Welp, DEI makes Viper and various other alarms. However, they have a upper level of alarm system which carry no brand name. They have a more quality build without the pricetag and options galore. You get over 12 usuable channels off one remote with various accessories you can add. Everything from infared, to paremeter monitoring. It all depends on what you want to spend. Generally, $450 will get you one hell of an alarm which will prevent theft to begin with. Tie this alarm in with GPS tracking tracking and you will be notified within seconds that the vehicle had been violated via email, pager and cell phone.

DEI now owns just about every major brand of car alarm out there, including Clifford. The newest Clifford has a great remote with an LCD display on it - it tells you if your alarm is armed, door is open, truck is running, everything. It's pretty cool, but it's huge! I'm trying to figure out a way to disarm the alarm by pushing the buttons on my door handle keypad, but no luck so far.
