Sweet car! Wish I didn't have to grow up. I'm saving for a ring - have damn near $7K. I could've had fun with that 5.0, too.

What a load of bull*****...

Copy and paste from the FORD X-Plan website FAQ:

25. Can I be charged a “document fee” (doc fee) by my dealer?
No. Fees for documentation or similar administration services are not allowed.

26. Do Dealers make a profit on Plan purchases and/or leases?
Yes. Dealers receive a commission from Ford Motor Company on each Plan transaction.

Some other info that may be useful from the FORD website:

18. Am I eligible for other incentives?
Yes, for most. Partner Recognition participants are eligible for all public incentives and many incentives normally paid to the dealer. There are some offers that are not compatible with this offer. Your dealer can best determine which incentives you are eligible for.

19. What is Partner Recognition pricing and how do I know if I’m getting a good deal?
The Partner Recognition Program offers substantial savings on most Ford Motor Company vehicles. Partner pricing varies by brand, as follows:

X-Plan Pre-determined price based on Ford Employee ("A-Plan") price. The X-Plan price is noted on the dealer invoice (except for Land Rover)

Ford/Mercury A-Plan + 4% + $150
Lincoln A-Plan + 4% + $250
Volvo A-Plan + 2%
Land Rover Dealer Invoice + 4%
Jaguar A-Plan + 4%

I would report that dealer, they are NOT allowed to charge you that $400 "fee".
