SVT cert. fee???

My dealer says that they will sell to me on x-plan, but I need to pay the $400 SVT certification fee above the price??? Just wanted to know if there is such a thing and if there is, is it really $400? Or is my dealer trying to get $400 outta me???

Never heard of it. Certificates are available directly from SVT at the end of the model year run- no charge.

I have heard that too. It's a fee to pay for their SVT dealer certification - not the certificate that we get with the truck...... speaking of which, where in the heck is mine??? i bought my truck in late November, and have yet to see it.

LMFAO. So they are trying to get the customers to pay for their SVT Dealer License? Report them, that will put an ugly stop to their bull**** real quick. Same goes for dealers who mark up the sticker price on SVT vehicles.

If you bought it used, you will probably have to call SVT and request it. At least thats what I had to do with my 2000 I bought used.

So am I getting ripped for $400? I am about to get an 03L as soon as I sell my car. Anyone know anybody looking for a nice stock 5.0 mustang (1991) with 32k original miles???

Looks great, I'd take it, had I the funds available... I was looking for one for a while, not too long ago...

Otherwise, the fee is crap. Just tell them that you won't pay the fee, but you'll call SVT if they try and make you...

Smile

To get my certificate, I sent a copy of my title of the vehicle and a letter to SVT. It took about three weeks for me to get the certificate back. You should be able to get the address off their website.

Hey fractaldragon....

Don't know where you are in Indiana, but there is a dealer in Canton, Ohio (Downtown Ford) that has 4 new Lightning setting on the lot that he will X-plan with no "$400.00 fees". Give me a call and I can hook you up with the owner if the dealership.

That's cool. I am an hour north of Indy. Don't know where Canton is offhand. I have to sell my stang first before I can do anything

The Dealer's are absolutely positively not allowed to do that. Report them to Ford!
