The blower suavy is running is an entirely new cased blower which utilizes the rotor packs from the eaton. From my discussion with magnum, they are relocating the rotor packs out of the intake flow to cut down on turbulence. The also were increasing the blower case displacement. As far as the expected price, he told me they were thinking 1900.00 for the blower. I'm sure suavy's truck is performing well, but for anther 1000 bucks, I'll stick with the KB...
I'm still trying to make the same decision vinnie is. Do I put in a short block and a KB or go full long block and crank up the boost on the stock blower for now...
How far can you go with a KB on a shortblock? 500HP? 600HP?

The long block includes complete heads.
The most important elements are rods and pistons. with those two you can with a KB get 500+ or without the KB but using nitrous get 500+.
For 600+ you can get there a number of ways– with a KB, moderate quality piston, head work, some good valves and new cams you should be there, or a KB, high quality pistons such as CP's good 5 angle valve job and nitrous 125-150 will get you there too.
I opped for the later– just my choice ... cheaper, driveability (w/o juice only 500+hp) and did not want to sink money into those spark plug launchers and that's only my opinion.
I have Manley pistons and they will take anything you want to dish out but they are very noisy the CP's are the same alloy but better designed to be quite.
My 2 cents.

Thanks, JE
So what is going to be my best bet to get a block with 03 heads and good valve work? Am I basically at the point of a full long block minus cams? Obviously, basic built shortblock would be the cheapest route, but I'd like to get rid of the spark plug launchers as well.
Thanks
Ken

My manleys are quiet. They only make noise when first started in the morning for approx 3 mins.

I'd get the CP pistons Manley rods, high quality valves with 5 angle cut for good flow, 6 pounder, nitrous the hell out of it and you'll see the 11's. When funds permited get the KB with at least 18 pounds of boost, 255 pumps, 50 pound injectors and you'll run with the big dogs.
Now when you do the heads and cams you'll pass them by.
Anyway, if it sounds like my game plan ... it is.

It has not been my experience and JDM switched from them because even they could not quite them down.

Thanks, Jagged.
Are you just going to buy the parts and have a builder build your existing block or will you be buying a shortblock to your specs?
Who are you considering and what kind of pricing are you looking at?
thanks!

I think you have this long block short block thing messed up as to what they are and your need for one.
