Thanks everybody.

Nothing is set in stone yet. I have been talking to Jim and will consider all the input from here.

Of course I do have to rob that bank on the corner first.

The real question is how much of a cost differance is there going to be for a new set of heads/cams. A built short block, and a KB will be stout, and you can always add a set of trick heads down the road.

Or you could just be stupid like me, and build your own from scratch using parts that are not even available yet.

motor mods

Vinny, Do the long block first, it just sets you up for future mods without disassembly, with the new cams a nice set of ported heads plus what your already running for bolt-ons you'll be banging low 11 then add the blower next season to get you to the 10's, just my .02 Todd

Lets Face it, we all know if V does this ?
He's gonna do it right.

I think he's still going through the rational stage of the decision,
and he just needs us to push him past the point of no return.

Hey V,
I bet Killa's faster than you right now

That ought to do it

Your welcome V

ttt

What is a realistic number to hope for in a well tuned shortblock WITH a KB blower tuned to drive as an everyday driver? (93 octane) I'd consider a street and track tune to crack the 600 mark with racing fuel, but I'd prefer to get it all the time...

Can you break the 600RWHP mark with a good SB and KB or will it take a long block to get there?

I'm entertaining all sorts of options... LB, maybe a better blower later down the road or a SB and a KB at the same time...

What are my options/prices in a long block? Good bad of each?

What are my options/prices of decent short blocks? Good and bad?

I'm in houston, so driving to one of the "big 4" is probably out
of the question. I don't know anyone in TX or 1 state away that do their own blocks. Anyone?

Whats the deal with the suavy blower? I have been reading about a new blower that may be more cost effectiove than the KB. What is up?
