Talking What is up with Dodge these days

Just got back from filling the truck up. I went in to pay and come back out and notice a guy was walking around my truck looking at her. He said sweet truck man. I said thanks. He asked me if she boils the back tires. I said yes. He then introduces himself as a salesman at the local Dodge dealership. I said cool. He then tells me to come in and he will let me whoop on one of the Hemi short beds that they have there. I said cool. He said he just wanted to let me know how the compared to mine. I just smiled and got in and drove off. Have any of you actually drove one of these trucks?? Or is it all hype. I am actually tempted to drive the d@mn thing just to see what all the crap is all about.

I personally have never drove one or ridden in one, but one of my close friends is going to sell his sierra to get one. He test drove it and said it had some ****, i asked him if it had as much pull as my L, he didn't say anything. So i don't know.

I'm guessing it won't even compare to my L. I had a 92 honda prelude with an H23 motor and a few bolt ons. It was a manual. I'm not saying that car was a rocket but it had some get up and go. Not even in the same book as the L. We'll see when I drive one.

The quickest of the new Hemi's run 14.7's to 14.9's; no competition for even a stock Lightning.

A buddy of mine has one of the new Hemis, HE HATES IT!! Says it has more power than his old 360 but not enough to make it worthwhile for the mileage it gets, it makes the lightnings mileage look good. Us L owners dont care about mileage for the most part, its what you get with a performance vehicle. But people buying these hemis and other trucks DO care and its serious shortcoming.

I drove a standard cab short bed hemi last week. It is a very roomy cab and is a class IV towing vehicle, so it can tow up to 8000+ pounds. I have always driven Fords but this was a very nice truck, for a work truck. It pulled like a high 14 second vehicle. You cannot compare the power and handling that the L has to it. It is in no way competiton for the L community. I have heard that KB is building a blower for it that produces 500hp. So you will have to see a heavily modified dodge to even think twice and then it is still questionable that the tranny will handle it. The only dodge is the SRT-10, which is over priced and still not out yet.

The New Dodge...... same as the old!

Anyway, I have not driven one, but I have friends that have one and they have the 4x4 model and it gets worse gas mileage than we do.
