Hemi guys are mad at me
I think I got the Hemi guys mad at me. I started this thread over there because I kept reading post after post of how the Hemi was undefeatable, and then a guy posts on how he beat a 02 Harley with his Hemi. So I posted links to other brands beating Hemis to get some interest into some put your money where your mouth is action as well as looking for was some friendly get togethers to race in real life and have fun. I figured if I could get them out to the track with more than a couple people around it could cut a lot of the internet exagerating out of the stories told on line, on both sides. Plus I thought it would be fun. If you read the posts on this link it seems they are not interested in putting themselves under any scrutiny and they keep going back to the " well you can get a Hemi for 17k", meanwhile none of them paid under 25k. Here's the link.

I know, and that was a regular cab. When my Harley Supercrew(at least 500Lbs heavier than a rc ram) was stock with only 1200 miles it ran a 14.4 in the Phoenix heat. After a few more miles, still stock and in California (cooler), I ran a 14.2. Now with $600 of mods (chip, filter and 6#pully) I am deep in the 13s. They can mod thier Rams, but after the changes made to get the level of performance and luxury of a Lightning or Harley he is in our price range. So after the cost of thier mods all the talk about the Hemi being a bargin is out the window.
HI!... Those guys are really FULL of them selves. I'm still N/A and I have raced 3 DODGE HEMI trucks so far. The races wer'nt even close. I spanked all 3 of them. The HEMI is not all cracked up to be like they think it is.
I raced a Hemi lastnight in my 94 L with a Vortech and beat it by about 10 truck lengths and I was still pulling hard when I shutdown. I don't think they are much more powerful than a regular magnum...it didn't seem like it. It was a 2wd 4 door lowered....about the size of a Harley truck. It would have probably been a close race if my 94 were naturally aspirated and still running low 15's.

Maybe you should tell them when they visit that they have to understand the second they log onto this board a haze takes over and you instantly go to 'L Fairy land' where no Lightning can ever loose a race .... can't be beat, no way, no how, by nothing ...

i was almost edged out by Evan Smith, who was driving a new 03 KB blown cobra with nitrous. he started to gain on me at the 1000ft mark, so i went ahead and gave the ol' "Dark Shadow Gray" Lightning (the fast color), the rest of the throttle, to take care of that pest. usually 3/4 throttle is enough to take care of most sportscars, but that guy is good driver, and would have put up a better fight in a Lightning

As bad as I hate to admit it I lost by 1 and 1/2 cars lengths. The truck was a 69 Chevy Stepside with a mildly built 350 with 8.5 pounds of boost and a 125hp shot of juice and a big stall. We both got excellent starts and I was surprised that I could launch so hard on the street with Nittos and my 4.10's with no wheelspin at all. At about the 60 foot mark I hit the 75hp shot and put an instant car length on him. We stayed that way for close to the 1/8th mile and then at the 2-3 shift he pulls ahead by 1 1/2 cars and stays that way until the 1/4 mile. I couldn't believe that he beat me. It was though being beat for the first time on the street but I shook his hand and said good race.
Now here is the weird part. On the way home I was easing my way along and it seemed like my truck was acting funny. So when I got home I popped my hood and one of my idler pullies was broke off and my Supercharger belt was gone. I was like WTF!!!! It broke the bolt off the idler pulley. I have no idea how this happened. I didn't hear anything during the race that was unusual but then again the Chevy was running straight pipes so it would have had to be awful loud for me to hear anything anyways. Any idea what might have happened?
I have already arranged a rematch so I will keep you guys updated. Oh and the 100hp jets are already in!!!!!

Sonic: You don't know of what you speak! Most of the guys here tell it like it is. And, no that's not my story but HANKFANS--apparently, a standup guy not a whiner like you seem to be.
