Step Headers For Those Who Are Making the Big Horsepower!

Here are some pictures showing that we are now stocking step headers. 1 5/8 to 1 3/4, 3 inch collectors. Since a lot of trucks now are making over 450 HP to the rear wheels we decided to go to a header that would accomodate that much power. If you are making 450 HP and 550 ft-lbs torque the straight 1 5/8 are perfect. If you are making over 450 HP and 600 ft-lbs of torque our new step headers are the ones you want.

These headers are $875 and are Jet Hot coated on the inside and outside.

can someone explain why these are better than normal headers when making that much power? Just curious. They look sweet!

And how long have you had these headers? I have been wanting some for some time now.........

Sure wish you would have had those headers when my truck was up there last week.

In the higher RPM's the engine is spinning so fast that the exhaust pulse in a straight tube header has a chance of some of it being pulled back up into the engine as the exhaust valve closes. With the step header design, as the exhaust goes through the first 12 inches in the 1 5/8 when it hits the 1 3/4 the step creates a barrier so the exhuast can't be pulled up back into the head. The step header actually extracts the exhaust out of the header tube.

Yes they will.

Thumbs up

Those headers look sweet Jim, I am sure that they will help out the higher H.P. trucks.
Talk to you soon.

Well Jim, you almost got my headers down.. Step them to 1 7/8th and you have a winner. They should step 4 different sizes on their way up to 1 7/8th.
