Give me that car for 1 hour, ill have tranny parts spit out all over the track. Cant even take a 4000 RPM launch
Ive raced many modded WRX and they never got the jump on me at the intersection with their super awd system.
Mistsu's on the other hand are nice machines. Gen 1 DSM anyone? You can make a Mits haul *** with little money and they hold together.

Dude, I wonder what the guy was smoking when he wrote the 20k markup in just plain ink.
BTW, my friend just ran against one the other night in his mildly modded 03 Cobra. In the end, it wasn't pretty for the EVO and the guy was pretty pissed afterwards.

$20K huh?
I laugh at your $20K, and raise you $44K, not for a Mitsu though.
A few years ago when the 2000 Cobra "R" came out one of our local dealers here had one for ...Yup $98K!!!
I almost fell down laughing!
I have a pic of it somewhere, I'll have to see if I can find it...
I so wanted to ask a salesperson if they actually thought they would get that for it?
BTW, I beleive it was almost a YEAR later, and I asked about it... It sold for $60K...
Gee I wonder why?
Oh nice car BTW!
I like the idea of a dual exhaust inlet on the turbo, probabaly keeps lag to a minimum?
Also have you used the water spray feature yet?

That was a bit of exaggeration or should I say (new car syndrome) on my part & I do apologize, but the packages u showed me for the Audi 1.8T are only for car years up to 2000, I believe. All of the Audi dealerships I visited in my area offered a specific tuner for mods (only tuner that could use that would NOT void the warranty), even though the upgrades are not genuine Audi parts. The Stage 3 package offered increased the car to approx. 230hp, for $6000. That would = about $37,000 total for an 03' A4. In addition, the A4 is also a smaller, and not to say that it doesn't feature quality workmanship & materials ... because it definitely does, but it doesn't compare speed, power and overall performance). I actually loved the way it handled but it just way too slow for my taste ... yet it does have plenty of potential. Do yourself a favor, if you haven't already ... check out an EVO in person, and drive one if you can ... then you tell me which is more car for the money.

And I thought it was an assumption that once you get into performance mods (on the Audi), the warranty (drivetrain at least) would be a distant memory.
EVO is on the short-list for the girlfriends next car

I see them daily here. Theres nothing cool or fast about them. Ugly as hell to boot. Its ricer heaven here in CA. To each their own .
Drkone,
I've messed around with the water spray feature a but I haven't really needed it yet since I'm in the process of breaking it in. The clutch, brakes, & suspension are still extremely tight at 200 miles. Mitsubishi claims that I shouln't take the car over 5000rpm for the 1000 miles (turbo kicks in at 3500), and some are telling me that I shouldn't take it over 3500! I'm all about taking it easy for a while but 3500rpm seems a little on the conservative, especially since I'm itching to feel what this thing is capable of. So far, I've tested a little bit of its quickness up to 5200rpm a few times, but no hard launches or abrupt stops, and nothing even close to redline (7000rpm). For the most part, I'm trying my best to break her in right.
RT Killa,
Thanks!
To all,
Does anybody have any opinions on breaking in a clutch (this is my first new manual transmission). Also, what is your opinion on taking it up to 5-6000 rpm (once in a while) in the first 1000 or so miles?
I put some film in my camera earlier today so for those of you who do not refer to the EVO as an ugly ricer, I'll have some pics for you soon.
