Lightning

This may be the reason Ford is digging its heels in on modded engines?

I don't want them to go out of business, but I hope they stop making Lightnings and Harley trucks.

GO OUT OF BUSINESS PLEASE!

Remember the car company Nash. Remember the car in Stallone's movie "Cobra". badass car.

they went out of business. are they worth some money
Depending on how many Lightnings are made, a totally STOCK one might be worth something in 30 to 40 years. Modified they are worthless in the collector market.

If there is to be any lessons learned from the Enron debacle it is that NO employee should invest heavily in stock-based retirement funds. There are simply too many other options, and too many examples of how foolish the practice can be.

Normally, I don't disagree with you Alphadoggy, but this time I have to take excpetion.

The only build issues I agree with:
Front end clunk
Door crack
Leaking intercooler
Blown spark plug

The blown motor, tranny and posi don't happen much on unmodified trucks. Tons of cars have oil-intake blowback, I know they sell oil catch containers for imports as well. The brakes and shocks are just fine for on the daily road driving, you don't need cam-bolts unless you're changing the suspension, I havn't cracked a foglight yet in 45,000 miles and I wasn't expecting much of a stereo with the price of the truck.

The truck costs only $33,000...I can see your complete list of complaints going away, and the MSRP changing to $55,000 (SRT-10?)...

That "they should expect people to mod it" attitude is horsecrap, they might as well give you a chasis and some blueprints so you can put whatever parts YOU want into it.

What the hell is wrong with you people. I live right here in dearborn,,, bottom line,,, if ford goes belly up,,, ,,,, ,goodbye entire economy in this area,,, goodbye every single freaking assembly line job for ford,, goodbye every dealership job, goodbye Rouge steal,,, goodbye every single small or large time company who mainly supplies for ford (ie Lear/Visteon)

So what the hell is wrong with you people who say that Ford deserves to go belly up,, do you really realize how many jobs ford is responsible for as a whole,,, you are wishing for thousands and thousands of workers to loose their jobs,,,,,

I have about 60-70 employees between our two stores,,, 75% of those people have parents who work for some aspect of Ford.

Before you make wishes for such a large company to go bankrupt,,, get a life and think about the true nature of a company such as ford going under.

IF YOU DONT LIKE FORD,,,,, THEN I HOPE YOU HAVE FUN DRIVING YOUR AFFORDABLE PROBLEM FREE CHEVY MALIBU!!!!!!!

mswaim, The only thing Enron should teach a properly informed investor is do not invest in "controled stock" ( stock that when you buy it, you are required to hold it for a period of time, this is seen usually in company retirement plans that purchase company stock, ESOP). If you want to invest in fixed accounts earning around .5% after tax and loosing your buying power after factoring inflation in at 3.8% then go ahead. Now is the best time in the past 10 years to begin to invest new money in to the stock market.

Maybe the employees should think about Ford when they take their union paychecks home or negotiating their next union contract...

Maybe Ford should have designed the explorer better or the crown victorias. They could have saved a bunch of money on law suits.

go ahead and hate corporate ford execs, sure mistakes have been made, all i'm noting is how many will truly be affected by the loss of Ford. Its not just upper management that will suffer.

Fords problem isn't labor, its management. Or should I say MIS-management. Ford makes approx. 9000 profit from each truck they sell. Catch my drift? Don't worry, Ford will be here long after you and I are dead. Millions of jobs would be lost worldwide if Ford went out. And I'm sure you will purchase another Ford someday Easterbunny.
