HELP!!!! I'm am just so MAD RIGHT NOW!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so I took the truck and cleaned the IAC out good I think. I don't know how clean it needs to be but I think its clean. I got the plunger to move up and down and I sprayed the hell out of it with carb cleaner and it looks clean now.

I dumped all my old gas out and went and got new gas now.

Its still doing it and it to the point where when I drive normal it chugs all the way until you get going, but if I just floor it she takes off like a bat out of hell.

I don't know what in the world it could be.

I put the stock TB in thinking maybe it might be the TPS, nope!

so what can it be, maybe the mass air?????

maybe the IAC is just broke????

can't be the fuel filter cause thats like new and it works fine at WOT??????

what else would possibly cause this, I took my chip out again and cleaned that off and it was ok.

I'm so lost with this now and I can't figure it out for the life of me.

Someone give me some IDEAS!

does the PCM bypass the mass air at WOT?????

maybe its my mass air, and maybe it might be my PCM too?

what about the main ground?

It could be a broken vacuum line like shawn93 stated in your other thread. I'm not sure whether that will cause is to miss and sputter at low rpm's, but it's a possibility. I think I read something on here about someone with a broken vacuum line, and their engine would miss and sputter at low to mid rpm's. I think the engine when it's at high rpm's overcomes the vacuum and runs smoother at high rpm's than it will at low rpm's. Like yours is doing. I'm not very sure on that though. This is just an uneducated guess. Hopefully, someone with more knowledge than I will come along and help you out.

Killa, any chance it's a weak or bad Coil ??

As far as the Filter goes
When my gas filter was clogged it was running bad at idle and partial peddle, it had a dead spot when you just touched the gas, and it was running a little rougher than usual . But it felt fine at WOT, thats why I never checked it. However when I took it to the track and raced it and melted 3 plugs, because it leaned out on me due to not flowing enough gas when needed.
But thats another story

However all my problems did start with a bad tank of gas that originally clogged the filter. I'd guess I sucked up the bottom of the gas station tank and then the filter did it's job and eventually got clogged to the point it couldn't flow the proper amount of gas and then leaned out at the track a month or two later. Now I know what to look for to realize when thats happening.

It sounds like something simple Joe, follow all you vac lines, make sure the PCV is all right, maybe pull a few coil wires while it's running to see if one's bad ???

Hope you find it ?

Check the EGR valve and see if its closing all the way. This can cause a vacumme leak at idel and mid/range. Plus everything on todays cars and truck is very interlinked!!Hope this helps!! I, just had a problem with my fog lights!! not cracks but a shorted bulb was causing serious static in the radio!! Artie!

I think it's always best to first check for any computer codes barring an obvious problem.

The IAC should only cause big problems with the throttle closed. Once the throttle opens slightly most of the air comes past the throttle, not through the IAC.

Gas filter, injector, or a coil pack.

Bring it over dumbass and we'll autotap it to see if we can see anything.

If I had to guess, I would say it is a vacuum leak of some kind based on your symtoms....also, as said above, check the egr- when they stick, they can simulate a big vacuum leak. I would pull any codes out of the computer as well...it may give you a heads up.

RTKILLA,

Check your coil packs. 5.4's have notorious problems with leaking fluids onto their coilpacks.

My old truck did the exact same thing you are talking about, because one of my coil packs was fried. The truck would hobble and shake and the idle would be all over the place and I had to 'limp' home.

Hope this helps~

My guess being 2000 miles away and in 70 degrees (thought I'd throw that in ) is:
vacuum leak

well at idle with no gas or anything the truck feels fine. if I go and just jump on the throttle hard to rev it, it seems fine.

When I do it slow is when I can feel it, in gear its like that too.

Can't be the EGR cause I don't have one.

I'll have to go checking around again, this one has me boggled. watch its probably something stupid like a vaccum leak.

I see you have or had your MAF meter behind the bumper. One pic it is up high another it is down low.

I would check the wires going to the MAF Meter, maybee one of the connections has gone bad.

I was going to say a EGR problem, but since you got rid of the system, that can't be it.
