Zaino Help

Ha ha...good observation mswaim. I found that the Zaino seemed to wash away after the very first wash. I was hoping that despite the mediocre results, that maybe at least it would last a long time, and that simply was not the case. Oh well. I would try cherry wet wax but I fear that I would just be getting sucked into another one of these snake oil products that turns out to be too good to be true.

After I demo it - I will be posting my comments whenever and wherever I see a thread such as this - Hey I may like it. I used to use some stuff called 'Formula 113' but really when all is said and done it's tough to find anything better than the PRO McGuire's stuff or the top of the line Mother's products and 3M makes real good stuff as well.
It's sad - but one thing I've learned over the years... people are basically like Sheep they have to follow what the flock wants or does in order to be accepted - no self confidence, peer pressure and acceptance by the 'flock' has become way to important in this Society ...
One more observation before I go - If you wax your vehicle every week or everyother week why spend X amount of dollars on expensive products such as Zaino - Supposedly the reason you buy the expensive stuff in the first place is for a 'LASTING' shine - not to have to apply it every month - I don't know about you but I can think of lots of things I'd rather be doing than waxing my truck every week - paying a lot of money for products that don't last is just plain STUPID - Duh...

This is interesting (seriously, not confrontational). Maybe it's the climates? Maybe it's the vehicle use? I wonder why you guys are getting such a short life from this product. I do a full treatment once every 12-18 months and 3 or 4 intermediate treatments a year (Z-5 only, about 2 hours of work).
My truck is garaged at home and garaged at work. It rarely spends extended periods of time in the elements, maybe that's the difference. If my truck served more duty, maybe it wouldn't last nearly the amount of time that it does.
I've had my truck 30 months and just rolled 26K miles, possibly this is why the shine lasts for me...

Zaino does not take long. You just don't put the time needed into detailing your vehicles.
Most people think the shine is all in the wax. WORNG! It's in the PREP WORK! The paint dulls after a period of time. To get the car shining again, you must remove the dulled paint (or clearcoat).
Zaino shouldn't take 4 hours if all you are using is Zaino.
Wash truck with dawn. 45 mins.
Mix z-2 with ZFX 5 mins.
Apply z-2. 15 mins.
Go have a beer while Zaino dries 30 mins.
Buff off. 20 mins.
That's 115 minuites or 1 hour 55 minuites.
Doing prep will take much longer, and yield better results. Wash, Meguiars #83, Meg. #9, Dawn Wash, Zaino. That'd take 4 hours.
Anyone realize detailers get paid 300 bucks for that?

If you washed your truck with Dawn everytime (or other
detergent type cleanser) then you removed the Zaino
every time you washed. That would necessitate starting
over every week, and is NOT the Zaino process.
I have had a three coat shine on mine that still rinsed
clean after 8 months of daily driving. I think you must
have another problem other than the product.
The best thing I like about Zaino is that it is a clear
product that doesn't "whiten" in the cracks of the
car and on the trim pieces.
PS.... NEW vehicles can have massive amounts of railroad
brake dust that only come off with the clay bar ...

Yep, that's my secret alright.....Lots of Dawn dish soap for me........and I always dry my car with steel wool too.........guess that's not part of the Zaino Process either...............
I truly believe to each his own, but after having tried Zaino twice, and after waxing and detailing more vehicles than I got hair left on my head I feel I can say with certainty that it's just not worth all the effort.
JUust keep in mind, any company that preaches the gospel of purchasing eight seperate products for that special look is selling you six items you really don't need unless you have a pretty abused finish to begin with.
wow, alot of bad misinfo in this thread from the regular old zaino-bashers that seem to lurk in the shadows until a zaino thread pops up
i say if you want a more unbias and clear view of the results on zaino, check out the general care forum. More professional detailers over there that can give you better info. If you do your truck with zaino and it all washes off the very next time, you definately did something wrong.
And the reasons guys like myself do coats like every month is becuase its so easy to do and you get better results every time. I did 9 coats in the 1st 3 months. 3 coats a day, each month. I haven't used it since november though, and after i wash and Z6 my truck it looks like it was just zainoed. Top notch stuff. and thats after going through this friggin blizzard of a witer, driven daily, NO garage so parked outside all the time, and no coats in almost 5 months. I have no questions on the durability at all.
so like i said, if you want a better idea of zaino, or other detailing products, step out of the L board and head over to general discussions and check out the posts.

I never stated that the Zaino I applied washed off the very first time, and I don't consider myself a Zaino basher. What I am is well-informed consumer who has tried many, many products for maintaining the finish of my vehicles. I also have been following the threads here for quite a while, and it's very clear that I am not alone in my opinion of Zaino, however Lord help someone who actually casts a discerning vote towards said product.
mswaim - Don't let harley get to you. He just "lurks in the shadows" till a zaino post comes up where he jumps in to proclaim it's maginificence. I'm not sure how people who have absolutely no connection to zaino or any other detailing product in any way, but try it (investing a lot of time and money) and don't like the results, are biased, but I am sure he knows better than us.
Grey, like i said before, the best thing to do is to look at someones car which has zaino and judge for yourself. Also you might want to ask how much time they put into it. Personally, I have a life and waxing/polishing my cars several times a month cuts into my "fun time".
I once again apologize for offering up an opinion contrary to the masses. You may now return to your previously scheduled brainwashing.

I have to chime in here
I love the slickness the Zaino leaves but I have to agree the swirl remover doesn't do jack. I applid 5 coats before the first coat of Z2 and it didn't remove them at all (hide them).
I have used wet cherry and the shine is better and clearer optically but it doesn't last for more than 3 carwashes and it turns everything that is plastic (black) white.
I will be using a specific swirl remover and then following it with liquid glass next time. Zaino was good and lasted longer than store bought waxes but I think it really isn't worth the $$.
I do however love the tire shine and leather conditioner. Those 2 products are hands down the best items I have ever used.
Here is a pic of my truck with Zaino. Shine is there, no complaints but the swirl remover didn't do jack:

Like what was stated before, trying the product is the only way. I never take anyones advice, I have to learn the hard and expensive way

I will give Zaino that one thing (other than smelling yummy)...it doesn't leave the nasty white residue all over the plastic bits like carnuba does. That is a definite plus.
Is cherry wet wax carnuba based?
I have no idea. Here is the link to the product info:
