Smoothed End Caps

1st off...reason i'm posting this over here and not in the HD forum is cuz i know quite a few of you guys have smoothed end caps, and all have flaresides, and there's only like 2 other flareside HD owners over on the HD board.

Anyway, i pretty much know how to get the stock endcaps off, and side steps, but just wondering if anybody else had any tips for removing them.

hoping to install these (and the side steps that should get here tomorrow) early next week sometime, so any tips are appreciated to make it go easier, cuz it doesn't look like too much fun for the rear ones

Thanks

thanks for the compliments guys! i've got some pics of the tailgate handle and smoothed antenna base cap in my gallery (the 2003- up gallery)

They are the ones that were originally for Vin (badazz516) until he decided to go wtih a sirmichaels rollpan, so now i got em also got a smoothed and painted tailgate handle, antenna base cap, and side steps (they should get here tomorrow).

I'll post pics of all that stuff when i get it on. gotta wait until this damn snow melts and the hose thaws so i can wash the truck 1st

So, any tips for swapping them? i know you did yours vinnie? Is it just like Rob said before to me....use a set of needle nose pliers and pinch the tabs and push them out? or do you know of any tricks or tips to get those things outta there. looks like the rear set is gonna be a tight squeeze getting the pliers and my hands up there

Yep, just like Rob said. You need to pinch the tabs.
I good tip is to pinch the new tabs also before you try and put them on so they go on easier.

Your right V, I'm on my 11 Second Quest before the season starts,
just think, "if" I do it at Cecil, that will mean my L is 13 months old
"and 2 seconds quicker "
