Sorry I'm late--just got home. Just one more suggestion for the list:
If you're close to a Honda motorcycle shop, try a can of "Pro Honda Spray Cleaner & Polish" I keep a can of it and a small towel in the storage bin of truck.
Sprays out as a thick white foam. It works great on removing bugs from front end & mirrors, grease & crud all around wheel wells, plus polishes all kinds of surfaces.....can be used on paint, chrome, glass, plastic, vinyl & rubber.



PS: The stuff smells great too!

 

sounds like splattered road grease
try using prepsol from a autobody supply place or
even bug and tar remover ,whatever u use
when your done,wash the area with soap
and water and then wax it.

 

I have always found the best thing to take grease/tar/crap off your paint is something thats sitting in the garage or on the shelf all the time.........
