i wanna see how they got the traction to run that 0-60 time

 

I have never owned a Dodge nor do I have plans to in the future, but i can't believe how many of you dislike this truck? I am puzzled... This is 1 awsome machine ... Can't believe a 13.8 though.. LEt me drive that 500 hp beast and I will show you a 12 sec pass...

Could the 13.8 be the "Greeness" of the engine? I know the L's loosen up with some miles. I think it looks very to be bulky. 22 inch wheels...

 

Maybe instead of an alarm system you detach the shifter and use it as a CLUB

 

I like most of it except for the wing;too ricey. I hate any type of wing on a truck. I'd also like to see an A4. I'm wondering how that clutch is going to hold up under all that TQ and weight! Speaking of weight, I was under the impression that these things were lightened. That 5000lb number was an estimate. I don't know where that 13.8 came from either, but if it traps 107, that's a 12 second truck folks.
The Viper motor has frightening potential. Go on the Viper board and see what a measley 6lbs of boost can do. Exhaust,heads,cam yield big improvements. If it were mine, I'd get the heads ported,cam,exhaust and N2O and say bring it on boys. Sadly, I've heard this truck will be in the $45,000ish range-BIG mistake. IMO, there is just not a market for a standard cab,2WD,1/2 ton in this price range. I don't care how fast it is. I do believe there is one in the mid 30s though. This truck should have been competitively priced with the Lightning. I fear it will go the way of the syclone: great truck,fast,handles well, but nobody bought it.
Maybe I should buy one, naw, you guys have your hands full enough with my little truck as it is,LOL.

 

Now thats what I'm talking about. I'm on the verge of taking a stock Lightning 12.9's....they must not be able to drive.

 

Looking at this pic, Dodge left room for improvement in the intake tract. I still don't like the front end, or the boy racer wing. The shifter.....how could Hurst put their name on that???

 

i too am suprised at the dislike for this truck. I actually was gonna buy the new dodge before i got my ford, the only reason i didnt because the dodge was just too wide and it wouldnt go in my driveway. I really really really like the new dodge frame, i think to looks super mean and im glad that dodge is finally putting out a respectable sport truck, theres nothing wrong with a little competition. However i think the modded front end for the srt10 loooks weak, and yeah exhaust (but how many of you L owners actually keep your stock exhausts? all i hear is bassani bassani bassani, and duh they sound bad ***) All i gotta say is 500 hp? 525 tq? im sold, its a great truck. I do however like the new f150 L concept much more and with a console mount shifter and the 6 pistons brembos and a truck pushing just as much hp if not more, i think thats what im really headed for, just waiting for the 2005 model to show.

 

oh and i wonder how hot that thing runs, i know you have to wear pants if your driving a viper, wonder if that applys to the srt 10 too?
