I had a 69 roadrunner with that same shifter on a 4 speed, and It was a fast car. but when powershifting against a big block chevelle ss, you couldn't get it in gear fast enough too long of a throw it sucked in the shifting dept. We installed a supershifter was great for the throw 4 inches ver. 13 inch throw but it was uncomfortable to reach down so low all the time so got rid of it

just rambling

"I also think it is funny how the "projected" ET has dropped from a 12.9 (last fall) to 13.8 (now). hell that is the same as an 01-03 L. "

Just like the lightning does 14.6??
Come on guys give credit where credit is due.
Anything less then a fully armored tank is gonna run 12s with that much horsepower and trap speed.Traction might be a problem but I bet it is a 12.5 second truck with traction and a good driver.Hell, its a viper with a truck body.If you want to crap on its looks and stuff fine but look what our trucks are getting with 500 hps .....11 second slips

I agree that we shouldn't judge it based on estimated performance figures.

However, for comparison, the 3400lb '03 Viper runs the 1/4 in 12.1 to 12.3, depending on who you believe. This truck, with the same basic driveline weighs in at almost 1800 lbs more. It's possible that it's NOT a 12 second truck.

wow i've seen school bus shifters shorter than that....

the truck looks alright except:

those rims dont belong on a truck
the exhaust location and setup looks fugly
the shifter is...bahhh..what were they thinking?
the wing looks it was tacked on at the last minute by a designer who just transferred from the srt neon project...

other than that it looks alright. of course, other than that it's just a dodge ram w/ a hood

personally if i was a dodge lover i would opt for the hemi. a much better deal and it does sport 345hp.

If you take the 100lbs=.1seconds in the 1/4th
since the new truck weighs in at 5000

5000lbs-3400lbs=1600lbs
1600lbs=1.6seconds
1.6seconds+12.2(avg of above)seconds=13.8seconds(or what was listed in the stats.

With a set of 16" slicks lowering the gear ratio, the normal bolt ons, and a 3500rpm launch...I bet it will run close to 12's. If not, I'm sure there will be a lot more tuners for the Viper motor. This will bring the v10 motor to the masses allowing the average smuck to buy Viper power. Competition is fun... I can see a SRT10/Lightning shootout in the future. This will bring all of the L owners together in a battle against the dark side. Nothing like war to bring a country together. We'll all be waving the blue oval flag.

Exclamation

Both the SRT10 and the Lightning concept should be burned. Ugly, Ugly, Ugly. Sure they make power. But I would rather have the power I have now with some damn good looks. They can keep those ugly things.-Mat-

ditto...Dodge is shooting themselves in the foot offering the Hemi in a Ram 1500 short bed for a lot cheaper than the SRT-10, plus the Viper motors sound gay

you want one?? i actually think it's nice...... but take out the shifter, and the spoiler....

i like the front, and rims are ok, (you guys say lower it, but remember are lightnings are high stock, thats why you lower it w/ aftermarket stuff). exaust is ok, but it would be better off both sides or something, but i really really like the interior except for the shifter, seats look comfy, and the dash is attractive.

yay to truck

nay to shifter/spoiler

I wonder if it will sound like a Viper? Have you heard a Viper? They sound like big bumble bees.

Umm

First thing i see wrong is a major restriction in the air intake.. Umm, hello, you could have redesigned the intake. Looks very tacky like that.

That motor just doesnt belong in that truck. Hardly original.. Dodge doesnt engineer their HPO vehicle near as well as SVT does theres.

The truck is pure ugliness. Body kit is very tacky and that spoiler, good gawd < puke >

That shifter looks like something out of Rat Fink.

Dodge, good luck...

Anyone want to take a stab at the production #'s per year?
