Mine does not botom out. I have chalked the bumpstops and driven it hard...The bumpstops on the rear of mine are the stock front bumpstops. The rear bumpstops must be 6" long from the factory. I installed the front bumpstops that Roush supplied on the front with the Roush springs and new swaybar endlinks...I bought the endlinks . Don't cut your rear factory bumpstops..Just take the factory fronts off and stick em on the back....they are about 2" inches in height. Ride quality impressions are subjective..
Mine is a daily driver..I drive over expansion joints in concrete highways..blacktop..No dirt roads..I draw the line here. I love mine.....I however tend to think that your avgerage everyday ****box is boring as hell.

What did you use for End Links inthe front? I haven't
changed mine out yet and haven't seen any problems.
Will mine understeer, or be more prove to bumpsteer?

Thanks,

Cliff

Regarding whether or not the Roush Bilsteins are necessary, the answer is no. When I was having problems with my kit, I was eventually directed to one of their chasis engineers. He said that Bilsteins were an upgrade from the original Monroe shocks on stock F-150s. However, since the '01's came standard with the Bilsteins, he didn't see the need for the Roush Bilsteins. In fact, he was quite surprised that the shocks were required to be purchased with the springs for an '01 truck. I can tell you that the Roush Bilsteins were the same length compressed and uncompressed as the stockers on my '01.

the stock front endlinks are 4 5/8( i think), if lowered 2in front you should put in 2 5/8 endlinks which are availible at most autoparts stores(energy suspension)

Cliff and all,

Here's the page you need.

NOTE: Each truck settles differently, don't assume it is the same across the board. I don't. BTDT.

The only trucks I wondered about were '03s because I think they have different shackles...

I just installed a set of belltech drop shackles on my friends '03. The stock '03 shackles look just like the stock shackles from a 2001, or a 1999.

BTW, I am not a Roush employee so I could be right on this one.

edited to make more clear.

Hi fellas. If you called Roush and got ahold of an unpleasant salesperson, I appologize. I have an employee who swears up and down that it will not work on 01 and up lightnings. I (Eric at Roush Performance.) have been selling these to you guys for quite a while now. I know that there is no issue with these fitting your trucks. I unfortuantely have a hard time convicing Joe of this. If you would like information or pricing, I am more than happy to talk to you guys. My direct line has been posted on here, but I will repost it for your benefit. You can reach me at 734-466-6253 until 6 P.M. E.S.T. monday through friday. I am here to answer your questions and if I don't know the answer, I will find out. My email address is Emshou@roushind.com . I am more than happy to answer questions. The billsteins are the same length as the stock lightning ones. The valving is different. Is it going to make alot of difference? Probablly not. You can use the stock shocks if you wish. I really appreciate your guys' business and I hope that my "****" employee doesn't turn you guys off to Roush. I am here to help out enthusiasts. If you guys have any information that is relevant, I would be interested in looking at it. If you need any specials or deals, please give me a call.

BTW don't lock this thread, I'm just trying to help.

Hi Eric. I ordered my Roush kit from you and it was a pleasure. My 03 is in and I pick it up tomorrow! If the weather holds I will install the kit this weekend. The only thing that should have been included in the kit that was not, is rear bumb stops. I think that could have saved a lot of people some problems. Thanks for being a guy without an attitude

I have not opened the kit yet but I will be calling you if the alignment specs are not in there. I'm guessing since Roush designed the kit they should know the perfect alignment specs.

Jerry ...

The ROUSH kit does not come with any installation or
alignment specifications. When I called ROUSH, I was
told that the kit was only to be "professionally" installed
and was not for the shade-tree mechanic.

Luckily, I had a friend at ROUSH that brought me the pages
from the F150 TECH REF that had all the torque and install
procedures in it.

So, the only things that would make the kit better, IMHO, would
be to incude NICE Anti-sway bar links that exactly compensate
for the new spring height, and to include an extra set of those
REALLY nice front bump stops for the rear.

The rear end-links I think can be cut down or re-drilled, but it
would be REAL nice to know that before you get the kit all
installed.

Eric, thanks for taking such a personal interest in us here.
