"Pretty good handle for anyone stupid enough to street race."

That was pretty harsh don't ya think. I mean everyone here has choose to race on the street at one time as long as it was safe. It's not like i was weaving in and out of traffic to beat this guy it was a empty stretch off road less than a 1/4 mile long.

pgh_medic,
He without sin cast the first stone. I don't come on this board to be preached too. Post your death crashes else where. This is a board for Lightning enthusiasts.

We are responsible for our actions and we know it. We can't control what everyone does in this world. That's why "Defensive Driving" is taught. Posting death on this board is a downer. If you don't have a L and your looking to preach, Go to a church. I find it offensive and it is not L related.

Like you have never done something in a vehicle and then later said to yourself, "That was stupid." Like I said. Throw the first stone!! Why don't you go over on the aviators board and tell the Airline pilots not to drink and fly?

Sorry to the others on here. Chit like this pizzes me off. Where do these mother ducks come from. It's not even Sunday!!

Nope. Street racing is plain stupid. Period.

pgh_medic,
I Don't think so! The only time I'm in P.A. is when I go to extrudehone. Weather I condone racing on the street or not. If I want to see those pictures I will go to the site and look for them. I don't expect to, nor would I like to see it here!

Talk about Lightning's,car's and women, I'll have a beer with you. Tell a grown man how you think he should live his life, then expect reactions like mine. I don't tell people what to do. When it involves me personally, then I voice my opinion on what that individual is doing!

Do you roll down your window and yell at the woman doing her make-up in the R.V. mirror doing 50mph? Accidents happen mostly from people not paying attention to what's going on around them. Too busy stuffing that Big Mac in their face or looking for CD's on the floor while trying to drive. Or talking on the cell phones.

Those people cause many more deaths and injurys then all the drag racing accidents combined. How many people have heard that saying, "Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't see you." When we leave our homes we have a responsibility to our selves to be alert when driving.

The difference between life and death comes down to being able to react from being alert! I almost lost a friend when he paid more attention to his new CD radio then the stopped truck in front of him while traveling 50mph. His face still bares the scares of that crash.

Drag racing crashes mostly occure from individuals that drive beyond their limitations or in congested traffic.

There is a time and place for everything.

Guess the fact that it is illegal doesn't matter, huh?

why dont we all just sell are lightnings and get bikes and some mutual funds? we'd be better off in the long run right. honestly i bet cells phones cause just as many horrific crashes as does "street racing". pgh_medic i dont know what your idea of street racing is but i sure as hell bet your not going 55 on the way to work, and if you were you'd be causing more problems than your helping. i totally agree with you that telling a parent their kid is dead isnt the most enjoyable thing to do, but it happens everyday, either from alcohol, drugs, cell phones, or just plain accidents. it sounds like its starting to get to you. honestly where i live, more accidents are caused by people gawking at cop who just pulled someone over. maybe if they didn't shut down all the tracks these people would have a place to let their testosterone fly. if its my time to go its my time, whether it be of a heart attack at 60 or flying my lightning off a bridge at 21. your opinion is still your opinion, even though your stories are based on fact, and nobody wants someone forcing their opinion on someone else. the best you can do is advise people to not race, and hope they listen.

When was the last time you listened to someone advising you against doing something illegal and dangerous?

If I respected the person I would take their concerns and advice seriously.

Just for the record. Statistically, I have a greater chance of getting hurt or killed by a driver on the phone then by two cars drag racing at a bad time.

Drag races in a single day accross all 50 states on a public road =2000.

People driving while on the phone=400,000. That's low balling big time. Get the picture? Is it ok to drive and eat that Big Mac in your car or be on that cell phone? When you are! You're more of a danger then a drag racer!

These statistics were pulled from my AZZ! Just common sense tell's me there are more people on the phone at any one time then their are people drag racing on public roads.

But that makes it ok! All the states have not outlawed driving and talking on the cell at the same time. How many more accidents will be the result of it? Many more than drag racing.
