Lightstruck,

Your last post made no sense at all. Maybe you should put a check on the happy tab thing.

So, do you believe that the value of every commodity is determined by the quantity of socially necessary labor time spent on its production?

The dealer is trying to screw you. They are specifically NOT allowed to tack on any fees to the Plan prices, becuase they are being reimbursed for the plans by FoMoCo. Call Ford customer service and report this practice!

Now I even bet it pisses you college boys/ "professionals" off to know some dumb hick mechanic can drive the same elite vehicles as you. I guess that 4 years didn't put you as far ahead of everybody else as you thought.

LMAO....classic...real classic. If only you knew how far off base you are......but then I have to remember that you have it all figured out.

In October 2001, I started looking for my 01 Lightning. I went to the local dealerships, but they wanted about $34K average for the L. I was looking for the X Plan as well but no one would do it.

Finally, I called SVT directly and got a list of all SVT-authorized dealerships. After calling 40 of them (yes, 40), I found one in Baton Rouge that said they would honor X-Plan plus $500. They didn't BS me--that's what they were willing to do, so I bought it.

Point is, the only shady area of this dealer is that they're creating a fee for something that they can't charge for. However, no one has to honor any plan. Either just pay up or keep searching, but just recognize that you're paying a small premium to wrap up the search--you're not paying any real fee that they can represent as an authorized SVT charge.

When I went in to order my '01 L, I got all of the paperwork done (on the x-plan) and paid a $500 deposit (Monday). Two days (Wednesday) later the salesman called me back and said that he "forgot" to charge me $500 for the SVT fee. I asked about it and they said that they add $500 to each SVT product that they sell, to cover their cost of being an SVT dealer. I said ok and hung up the phone. Two days after that (Friday) I drove my brand new Lightning, to I bought off of the lot at another dealer) to the place where I had my order. All of the salesmen were looking out the window and checking out the truck. Then I got out and a my salesman and the Financial guy realized who I was. I walked in and got my $500 back, and vowed never to go there again and tell everyone I work with about what they did. Basically $500 cost them a few thousand bucks. If they would have told me about it in the beginning, it might have been ok, but not 2 days later. It looked to me like they were just trying to get a little more out of me. Long story, sorry! Just my $.02

Roger

Hmmmm? Seems like LightStruck had some second thoughts and retracted many of his statements. Hopefully he realizes their is nothing to be gained by making personal attacks to posters.

Holeshot,

Good luck in your search. Hopefully the link I supplied you with will give you some places to check out. Maybe we can get this post back on track and you can find your Lightning that you want to purchase. Let us know how it turned out.

Navi-man and 03lightninrocks...

The Tag-Team of car dealer sales -

or as one gentleman put it recently on a highly popular game show - upon his introduction - under job discriptions, he stated " I am a pre-owned transportation consultant "

The game show host was very quick to point out - so then, "YOUR A USED CAR SALESMAN"... and the crowd laughed, as most people do

one more thing before I go ...

riddle me this -

When sitting down at the card table with four people to play poker and one of them has marked the cards - the other three have no knowledge - who do you think will be the winner at the end of the evening...?

It's called - "Dealing while holding all the cards"

Sonichog,

Why are you making this thread into a personal attack on me? Other than offering advice and giving my viewpoint to holeshot, tell me where in this thread I have totally sided with the dealer? You may not like my opinion on something, which is fine, but leave the personal attacks out of the forum next time.

excuse me sir

but I don't see anything in my posts that is inflammatory or attacking in nature -

My posts are meant to be humerous and sometimes hopefully informative -

Please Sir, don't tell me how to - or what to post. I will post as I see fit when and how I want to.

I think you - Sir - should re-read your own posts keeping in mind your no better than any other member on this board and adjust your posts accordingly ...

Now if I may continue with my good book and a hot cup of tea as I am done with you - and this thread ...
