Is that a standard upper with the KB? Your lower must be a 2#'er? I am getting ready to install mine and want to start at 15#'s, so your input is appreciated.

The 8.9" Lower he spoke of would be an interchangable 6#.

Actually it isn't an interchangeable one. It is a polished aluminum and it doesn't have a ridge on the outside(outside edge is same height as the top of the grooves the belt sits on.) I purchased it used and don't know who made it. It was originally for a 1999, but I had the center hole machined out. It gives me barely 15psi sometimes at 5500 rpm. I know because I have my electric boost gauge set to turn the light on at 15psi. I also have a 7.9" lower which is black, used and I don't know who made it. It gives around 10psi.

From what I understand boost levels depend on exhaust, heads, and port work which may have been done, so your boost may not match mine. Also the measurements may not be perfect, but I can't believe they are off more than 2 tenths.

I am using the 3.5" upper pulley which was supplied with the KB standard. Using the 2.5" upper and the 7.9" lower my boost gauge read above 20psi. Needless to say I removed it quickly because at 10.2 air fuel ratio, 93 octane, and the 20° timing it detonated badly(No damage.)

I must have measured it wrong or something. It is 7.9" or something real close. I edited the above post.

The Cobra 140s are coming out very shortly after the truck 140s which are about to hit the street.

There are a couple prototypes running around. Calightnin has one on his truck, and the gains were impressive. He went from about 392 rwhp to something like 566, despite putting on a smaller lower pulley and having fuel starvation issues above 5K rpm. With bigger pumps and injectors so he can utilize a bigger pulley he should have no trouble making over 600 rwhp. But, I talked to Chris today, and he gave me some background on why this project is taking so long to come to fruition. In terms of where I stand on the waiting list it appears unlikely that I would receive a 140 in time for Streets of Willow and some other events that are coming up. So I have to explore alternative solutions.

I have delt with Jim Bell on a warantee issue. He is one of the best guys that I have ever delt with at backing up what he makes and sells. My problem was taken care of extremely fast and I came away very happy with the results. Jim has been around for a long time and knows his stuff. I even remember him from the late 60s and early 70s Lions Dragstrip days. His Buicks flat hauled ***. If I was in the market for a new blower I would surely make it a Kenne Bell. Skip

I would go with an HKS or Neuspeed.

Until I see a Works blower on the internet or elsewhere that I can order. It will be a K.B. for me.

We all seen how long the K.B.s took and how much testing was done before they could be shipped and even then there was problems with some of the first batch.

Only now after seeing a lot of guys with the K.B.s turning numbers am I ready to get one.

Of course late this year or next year may be a different story and guys are getting the Works, But for now........

I talked to Works Power..

The 140 kits have been delayed, but they are worth the wait. As Vinnie said, there are certain steps that have to be made to ensure the product is top quality and is a DIRECT bolt on. They just want to make every effort to ensure the kits are right the first time around.

They are going to start shipping soon. These kits are all hand-made and take time to assemble.

Believe me, I want my bigger blower too, but I intend on waiting for the 140

-Dale

PS - George, I thought your truck has been down because it doesnt have a motor? Also, the pictures I posted werent "secret" I was just there one day and happen to snap a couple pics.
