.....it stalls out when idling? It did it in the dealer's lot and then again on the way home while stopped at a stoplight. Could it just be the cold and the fact that the engine had 7 miles on it, or is this a BIG problem? It hasn't done it agian but I'm still a little worried
What could have caused that? What should I do?

It seems a few of us are having some cold morning gremlins.
Mine takes up to 3 trys to stay running on these cold mornings.
It just started this last cold spell, but it doesn't stall while driving it. Give it a day or two, then bring it back for a looky before you start THE MODS

Gas
My 02 had gas issues when I picked it up... 13 miles, 1/4 tank of gas. filled it up with super and it was perfect. Must have been bad gas I figured... no ill effects as of yet (16,000 miles). Drive it nice to the gas station :-D

Personally I would have never left the dealers lot if it stalled before I ever left. I would have forced them to deal with the issue. I know it's very hard considering how excited you are to drive your new toy, but that's what I would have done.

Ford really needs to do a better job with qualifying SVT dealers. I am beginning to think that most of the qualifying has to do with the volume of business the dealership does with Ford.

authorized. Hmmmmm ... interesting huh? Until I trained
my service reps they didn't even offer the free rental. Or the
car wash ... or the replacement for foglamps ... or or or

It won't be a 'dirty' IAC--it's brand new. It might be an incorrect voltage signal from the PCM. It should be receiving approximately 10.5-12.5 volts at the harness side of the connector. The idle speed is not 'adjustable' There might be an internal short--grounding out against the case?
A broken or loose TPS can cause intermittent bursts of fuel from the inj. and an unstable idle because the PCM thinks the throttle is moving. This will set a code.
There might be a vacuum leak.......???

I had -
Paint issues and other minor cosmetic flaws - but it runs like a champ - salesdroid filled it up with Sunoco premium before I picked it up - I live in MA so it's been very very very cold here last couple of weeks. I haven't had any cold weather issues at all and I go sometimes two or three days without starting it (running a Winter beater)
I bet you'll find it's a cheap gas issue or condensation in the gas tank creating the problem ...

Had a full tank of gas when i got it not sure what grade. It hasn't happend again in 380 miles so I guess I won't worry. I just like to think my truckwas saving his energy so he can run that much harder on the street. Thanks for all the suggestions I'll keep them in mind if it becomes a problem. Off to a bad start and I hope its not a sign of whats to come.
