Tired of aftermarket CRAP...

Well I've been around - this isn't my first go- fast car and it won't be my last - but here's what I will tell ya' ...

After the experience I had yesterday and many others I've had in the past I have pretty much had it with the aftermarket parts industry...

Most of the ***** never fits properly (poorly designed junk) spit out with this mentality "get it out fast- for the least effort - and the most amount of money"

The rest of it never does what it friggin' claims it will - HP gains never what they advertise and then on top of it you have to fabricate to get the ***** to fit.

Occasionally you'll get a Company that puts out good quality pieces that fit and work like advertised - but that's hard to find ... One Company that comes to mind that makes real quality after market stuff (for MC's) is a Company called Kuryakin' -

Most of them though are open the box and pray .... I am real weary of all this crap and have decided to stay mostly stock with the exception of the JDM silverbullet cat back and maybe an air box I will be stayin' "all show - No go"

Sorry for the rant - but the weather and Aftermarket has me on the run or should I say RUM ...

Please feel free to comment...

I agree. In most of my experience i have found that aftermarket sucks.
There is some exceptions.
Most of the tuner's stuff is good. I mostly run JDM and there stuff really is a true bolt-on.I am sure the other tuners products fit well also.
And my Shaker Hood was exceptionally nice with a good fit. But overall throughout the years I have found aftermarket to be pot luck.Sometimes good , often bad.

i almost spent the 1200 on the innovations
cover,i called to see about shipping and was practically
talked out of it,im glad i didnt just take it after reading about
somebad fitting ones one here, then i wanted to buy the fibernetic
one which has a smaller wing on it and i find out there going
out of buisness ,you can only buy one if the dealer had one in stock and if something happens to it you are on your own.
im sticking with my stock cover for now.

yep i agree tony at pro-glass knows his stuff and his products are definitely quality. i've heard nothing but good things from his camp.

with the exception of some people disliking JDM's superchip tune (i currently have no problem and run his flipchip), i think his quality is pretty good. this goes from mark @ LFP and sal's as well. I also run JL's pulley and find the piece excellent.

i have yet to make my rounds with the tuners but i've heard similar experiences with REM and the others so hopefully i wont run into any problems with QC or poor service anytime in the future *knock on wood*

Just custom build everything yourself. That way you only have 1 person to blame or to pat on the back.

Still trying to get this Frito Lay chip to perform in my truck, and I've flipped it many times. All that happens is a corner will break off and I'm forced to eat it. I still don't understand how a potato chip inserted into our trucks electronics would make it perform any better, but if you guys say your chips are working, I'll try to get mine to work.

Dude... That's the third time you've shown that thread, and it wasn't relevant ANY of the 3 times.

The first 2 were asking if the factory tonneau would work with them, that question isn't answered in that thread.

The third, this one, mentioned that SOME of them were thought to be crappy. And, honestly, anything that secures with double-sided tape, regardless of how it looks, is a piece of *****.

LOL For what its worth....My Silverbullet didnt fit right. The muffer shop had to bend the tailpipes so they would fit into the mufflers.

Anyone keeping a list of the things the tuners or suppliers
REALLY build? That's not just a generic part resold? Like
Truck Tracks is made by hand by Jay ... That's what I'm
talking about. It would be interesting to see what
percentage of stuff is just "available" on the market.

Or you can just adopt a degree and title and
go sell mouse droppings .....

Interesting question...wonder what products are actually made in-house?

Probably like the assembly of "boost bypass kits"
