I can E-mail you some pics, but they are for one reason. And that is stop street racing, not to 'rubberneck' what i see at work. Some of the pics are very graphic, however no faces of the deceased are shown. I hope these open your eyes to the danger and real life results of this irresponsible activity. All of the accident pics that i will send are due to either excessive speed or alcoholm, yet another stupid trend that keeps me in business. You may not hear many people say this, however I will, Please put me out of work, please! Lightninkid i am sure there is a track in close proximity to your location, race there. It will be just as exciting, trust me. Plus you will get to see what your truck can REALLY do, 60ft, 1/4mile,speed, etc.. There are ALOT of helpful guys on this board that will help you get your truck running top notch! And i am sure will be there to cheer you on at the track. I hope to own an L someday, however hopefully a house is in my future. So, at 25 i want to be a homeowner, so, maybe an L later... I will send you some pics, but i want something in return. I want you to post in this forum that you PROMISE me you will NOT street race, put it in writing. If the kids at school give you crap about being a wimp, just think of those pictures. Hopefully those kids losing their lives, may save some others.

Take it to the track man. Win or lose it will be fun. What year is your L? If the GT is close to stock you are going to kill it. There is no shame in losing man.

Is your friend guessing those times? There is NO WAY a stock 02 GT is going to run anywhere near 13.1 or lower. Even most mildly modified GTs are not going to hit those times. He has got to be running a poweradder, most likely nitrous.

Take it to the track. You will be more consistent and you will be SAFE! Get in a couple of prelim runs to see what your truck likes. Then you can line up against him and go best 2 outta 3. Good luck.

Just in case he does run 12.8 you better call Sal with about $5,000. You'll be deep in the 11's and be the King of your HS. Oh yeah....always race on the track only. While you have Sal on the phone see if he can tune your flip chip with a 2000 RPM limiter until you take it to the track

I know it's stupid to street race, but come on! I didn't buy this truck to putt around in. If I wanted to putt around I would have bought an Oldsmobile. I'm not saying that I challenge every car at a light either. I don't go looking for trouble, but am well prepared if it comes looking for me.

Sorry, didn't mean to give the kid the wrong idea. I don't condone street racing. It's human nature. Simple as that. Check out the pictures of all the old foggies (FAST GATOR) doing burnouts in the mall parking lot. It's testostorone.

Nice, glad you didn't kill yourself racing....now alls you have to do is steal his girl and get some snap shots of her in the bed of your truck, a good time to get a bedrug if you dont already have one...leave those on his windshield!

Lightningkid..... Congrats on not takin' the bait!! By the way, just to offer perspective. I own a '95 'Stang with I heavily modded (much to my wife's annoyment) 5.0 liter, that I run at the track every other weekend. The best ET's I've generated recently (my car not dialed in yet) are in the 11's, and I guarantee he's not even in the ballpark.

Try and remember what an older racer told me at the track one weekend. Loser's like your buddy pick on you for a reason, because you drive the best. The best are always the target.

Enjoy your truck, race it at the track, and tell your buddy to produce track ET slips before you'd even consider wasting your gas to hand him his a**.
