Where did you guys put the antenna? I put mine on the back side glass, drivers side, not on top of the truck. I'm getting it turned on soon, It should pickup signals OK, I hope.

Looks like if I want satelite radio I am stuck with XM since I am a loyal Alpine user, and I want to keep my CD changer.Right now there is no Alpine radio that works with Sirius.

Sirius tells me that Alpine is a Partner, and there will be a unit available later this year, but we all know what later this year means.

Spankdog,

You can paint the antenna, I have it installed on the back glass and if it doesn't pickup well, I'll move it to the roof. I'm going to paint mine , if I have to put it on the roof.

Don,

I was hearing rumors Sirrus might not make it, so I chose XM. I like my Alpine Head Unit, thanks everyone for recommending an Alpine unit.

Thanks for the idea DL, I just might have to do that. As far as sirius vs XM, I was told that the only reason XM appears to be doing better is because they have units for the home and sirius doesn't. So who knows.....I would hope that one would buy out the other rather than just fail.

it's an MTX thunderform. It's custom made for regular cab F-150 trucks (lightnings also) You can get it unloaded (without subs) Loaded (with 2 MTX subs) or amplified (loaded with an internal amp). Mine i got unloaded and put in 2 Pioneer 10's.

I may be wrong, but that looks like a custom made box in Spankdog's truck. The MTX thunderforms look more shallow and sloped.

WElllll sorta.

Blitzsafe makes some modules to make sirius work with XM units. Now I havent investigated to see if they make one for the alpine yet but they do make htem for various other units out there.

I'll see what i can find out and get back to ya

Actually it had to do with the release dates of sirius vs XM. Look at directtv, same kinda of thing in release to dish network (except dtv is trying to buy dish now)

The Sirius is actually better quality than XM. (streams at higher bitrate)

But we will see...
