azblackmonsoon-

Did you have any mods on your truck when it blew? And if so, did you remove them prior to having the truck picked up/engine pulled? Had you installed a chip prior to the rod going out? They gave me the same runaround...just asked for copies of oil change receipts. Thanks for the input and help. Glad to see you were taken care of.

Thanks for the reply. So they didn't bring up anything about the chip contacts being scrubbed clean? Once they made the decision to replace the motor, about how was your wait? They told me that they will be able to pull mine apart in a day, install a new motor the next, and that is it. Sounds to good to be true??? What was the story w/ yours.

My truck was spit out on January 24, 2002. No problems at all, and the day it let's go, is the day the Manley's go in at Lamotta Performance. Ford will never service/wash/breath on this vehicle. I learned my lesson with the GT.

Glad to see this post has been able to help some of you, or atleast bring the problem to your attention. Just trying to bring it back to the top to get a response and more info from azblackmonsoon, as his problem sounds exactly like mine. Wondering about motor removal and reinstallation turnaround time, overall time spent to put everything back together, and if they checked his / (your) computer. Thanks for the help.

Did you disclose the mods to the dealer?

No, didn't say a thing about the mods. It hit their lot in exactly stock form, and had just been serviced 2 weeks prior before I had added any of the mods, so they have no reason to believe otherwise. I told them all that I had done is installed one of those "what do you call em, K & M air filters?" Acted very ignorant about any tuning.

Glad you're being taken care of..but I wouldn't post info like that here or anywhere. This is a pretty popular board (as you can tell by the 3 Ford techs we know of here) and I'd hate to see you get slammed up the wazoo by someone reading what you posted whose affiliated with your dealership.

Best of luck when you get your truck back!!

See ya'

Dan

Quote "Nope I have not heard anything like that at all"
