sorry, nothing in writing as of yet, and honestly I don't know if I ever will receive anything, they act like they just want to replace it and move it down the road.

Sure would make me feel better if I knew!

Ill let you know this year how much they can handle. I have a 6# and plan on getting an upper . If she blows she blows .. Then its easier to expain to my wife that i need a new engine!

they won't be able to keep it quiet very long in the L community...

here is a listing of TSB's that I found
http://www.alldata.com/TSB/20/022068DI.html

there is more than one Ford service/mechanic on this forum to verify any rod issue fixes - I wonder why "rod 3" - rod 3 is no different from any of other 7 rods???

I'm cool
Plus you've all heard mine got the true test the night I had "NO" Rev Limiter "OR" Shift Points and it pinned the Tach at 6000 and god knows what 4 or 5 times. I could feel those babbies flexing that night, but they stayed in

Seems to be a new head to fix our problems too that Ford is being hush hush about ???
Look what I found over at NLOC

( At Least 90 % are Lightnings ) Well today another Tech called me to show me that the threads on the head Ford sent to fix a vehicle were threaded all the way thru. I dont know when this change took effect but this head had a casting stamp of Dec 2, 02. It appears to have a total of 10-12 Threads now.

Hey Guys,
SuperFords is right, there is no tsb or recall for this. I work as a tech up here for our local ford dealership and even our own factory website for techs has no listing. Unfortunatley it sounds like your service advisor lied to you, but thats ok at least you get a new motor. By the way how many miles on your unit? I'm asking because if it has less then I think its 10,000 miles on it you get a new motor if its more then 10,000 you get a reman, I don't do heavy line I'll have to check with him to find out.

its rumored that the 99-00 rods will take about 500 hp

Glad to see you all responding to this post, and to answer a previous question, mine had just turned 6000 miles when the rod went, and in correspondence to another person losing rod #7, depending on the way the tech interprets it, rod #3 could essentially be the same as "rod #7" or vis versa. And yes, all they seemed to want to see was my 2 oil change reciepts. Sythetic both times, so no more questions after that. I'll get a final statement and analysis in the next couple of days. The rod didn't actually completely go through the block, it just put a small, but ever so deadening bulge in it, just above the oil pan.
