Thumbs up Works 140 Progress Update

Since many people are patiently awaiting the release of the Works 140 Lightning blower kit, I wanted to share the latest progress on the kit with everyone. As some know, there are a few prototype kits that have been installed on trucks for a while now, that are being used to test the fit, function, tuning and performance of the kits.

We have got some new data on the performance of the kit, that was obtained via dyno tuning this weekend. The truck used is a 99, with a PSP built long block, 01 lower intake and heat exchanger, and most of the available bolt on goodies.

As you can see from the dyno, the truck made 556rwhp, and 583rwtq. This is at ONLY 19 psi! Also notice how high the torque stays up through the rpm range.

I just wanted to share this info with everyone, to show a sample of the power that can be obtained with the Works 140 blower kit. Keep in mind this blower can produce 10 more PSI over what was tested on this particular truck, we just haven't pushed it that far yet as we are making sure the fuel system and MAF can handle it as we increase it.

Sal, I have a question on this. I guess my real question is how much more power can we expect to get with the 140 running boost levels that a stock bottom end can handle (10-12 lbs.)?

Also I will be in Houston to have you tune either my 99 or if it comes in, my new 03. Will you be ready to tune the 03 and will you please bring a flip chip (two way) to Houston when you come. I'm going to have the four way tuned for the 03 and the two way for the 99 (my son will be driving the 99 and I want a very safe tune with lower shift points for it). I need it to last another 60,000 miles.

sounds sweet sal.

I too am curious about how much power can be made and how much boost can be used SAFELY on a stock bottom end. I know only time will tell this one for sure though.

So the horsepower and torque numbers rock! we already knew that, now WHEN CAN I BUY ONE?

Oh and another thing, I'm sure this has already been addressed, but how do these things sound? Do they scream like the Eaton with a big pulley and an open filter? or is it a different sound? I love that whine, people always used to hear me coming down broad street and describe it sounding like a jet plane flying by!!!

later,
chris

Nice numbers!

It was my understanding that that was just a baseline tune and that more tuning (At the same boost levels) will bring out even more power!

FWIW - RE: stock long blocks, the same truck drove around for quite some time while making ~510rwhp and didnt break.

We'll see what 25-30psi will make for HP once I get a built motor in my truck!
