Jerry,
I sent you an e-mail yesterday..Titled.."You Look Worried".
The Roush is a 3x3.5 on a Regular F-150 and a 2x2.5 on a Lightning.....I just say mine is lowered 3x4.5 overall when I talk about it...If you leave the rear stock shackels I ca't see how your truck could ride bad at all..mine is lower than you're gonna drop your's and I can say it is a firmer ride but not at all unpleasant.
I will agree that on short dips and some bridge approaches it tends to bounce a bit..but I have yet to have my head hit the roof or truly gain air under my butt as some would imply...Sure you can use avoidance manuvers to evade the know problem areas..or even slightly lower your speed in really rough areas..but it is a very small trade off for the overall improvements in handling. PLus the look, stance is rather bitchin' .
Make sure you change out the sway bar end links to match the height change.
Ruslow recommmended some alignment settings for street use and I used these for the alignment after the camber went in.
After a few daze with the new stuff..you'll wonder what the hell you were worried about..Now you can worry about getting better brakes cause you'll be taking those sweeping curves like you're in a vette or Porsche...all in a 5000 pound pick em up....
Think of it this way...How many threads have you read about damn near everyone installing 2" drop shackels..Ever hear any complaints about the ride from thoses guys..I had them on all 3 Gen II's I've owned...I love the Roush stuff..if there's a better steup..I can only envy the guys with it...

I put on Caltracs a couple daze ago and even with My drop I have no funny noises....The rear end just seems more solid....
Dive in..you'll like the water....
Check the road course section on www.nloc.com for the alignment specs I posted about..Ruslow steered me straight..

Thanks Sixpipes. That is a kicka$$ pic. Looks like you still have a little rake (higher in back than in front). Is there more than one setting for the rear? I really like the stance of the truck in the pic you posted.

I think he's just breaking.

The ROUSH system runs nice in autocross:

Daniel's right. That particular pic is under heavy braking (like 80mph with the pedal to the floor), but you can see it doesn't upset the stance a whole bunch. Side to side roll is minimal.

Same event just before braking in the same corner. Stance is a little more level, but still has a slight rake to the front.

Sixpipes,

Are you able to tow with that setup? If not, do you think there is enough room for an airbag kit to help with the load?

Go_rila can tow anything a stock Lighting suspension can handle. The issue is tongue weight. The load has to be balanced over the trailer to keep excess weight off the rear of the truck. Payload is reduce by about 50%, but you can still haul most of the stuff you really need to haul without any problems.

Finally got mine setup where I wanted ... 1" drop shackles
(Second hole) and the ROUSH kit ... Makes a real ROAD-MAGNET
outta the pick-em-up truck... You won't be disappointed.

It doesn't ride as "cushy" as the stock suspension, but it
shouldn't, should it?

Cliff

SVT_KY, why did you put on the drop shackles...to make the truck totaly flat? I don't mind a little rake. Yes you are right about the ride. I don't mind a rougher ride, just not a rough ride!

I had the 2 " shackles on before I did the ROUSH
kit. There was a 1/2" diff between the front and
the back. So over the holiday I moved the shackles
back up one inch... I will run auto-x and see, maybe
I will need to put the stock ones back in ... I will let you know

PS... The new paint job looks pretty good for $18,000 doesn't it?

Truck looks great. Only thing it needs to be perfect is a set of chrome 99-00 wheels!
