2002 lightning power loss

I posted earlier today or I guess yesterday now and can not find my posting so for those that missed the first I am in so cal have a 2002 lightning that was totally awesome for the first 3 months and has been hell for the last 9 with dealers telling me nothing was wrong with it and it's power was cut in half like I don't know my truck. well let me just clue you in here the fuse relays in the interior fuse panel in my truck were all black when it was running correctly and filled all five slots then all of a sudden there were only four fuse relays and the top one had a green dot and the second had turned yellow and the 3rd had been totally disconnected. somewhere down the line someone must have felt sorry for me at one of the dealerships because one day i found in my purse 3 black fuse relays and guess what they looked just like the ones that were there beforeand when I finally tried them (I had not done so even though I had them for like 7 or 8 months because it just seemed to impossible to believe I mean it's just a fuse relay theres no way it could affect my engine/drive train performance right... plus I figured i might short every thing out... but out of desparation last week I pulled out the one with the green dot and the yellow one and hey what do yoiu know it looked like the ones in my purse fit and every thing so I tried em and you won't believe this but I swear I am telling the truth and will be back to poist dyno results with both sets of relays asap but when I put the black relays in I had my v-8 back unfortunately minus the super charger which is the missing third relay which has been disconnected from behind. so if you have lost power and/or your supercharger check out the interior fuse panel not the little colored fuses on the right the black fuse relays on the left and if you are missing the third and the second has turned yellow on you please feel free to call (562) 627-0305. I also have the original parts numbers for those of you that are interested and the replacement parts numbers which took the power away. the parts that should be in your truck are as follows: (oh by the way the manual lists these parts as a battery saver and some other b.s the reason I noticed mine changed color is I was using the "security system" it came with which consisted of removing the 30 amp colored fuse on the lower right so I was in and out of there alot and it just seemed so unbelievable I talked myself into thinking it had always been yellowthat is until I finally tried the original black ones last week.. and got my truck back minus the super charger anyways the part numbers you want in your fuse relay positions are from top to bottom: POSITION #1) F57B-14B192-AA / 1339A32D
POSITION #2) F57B-14B192-AA / 1353A12E
POSITION #3) FOAB-14B192-AA / 1345 C1
POSITION #4) FOAB-14B192-AA / 2006 C3
POSITION #5) FOAB-14B192-AA / 2006 C3

THE FUSE RELAY PARTS THAT ALTERED MY TRUCK FROM A SUPERCHARGED V-8 TO A PREMIUM GUZZLING RUNS LIKE A MESSED UP SIX CYLINDER ARE AS FOLLOWS:
POSITION #1) F57B-14B192-AA / 019 02 13:30
POSITION #2) YELLOW RELAY YL3T-14B192-AA / 2008 C3
POSITION #3) DISABLED FROM BEHIND
POSITION #4) FOAB-14B192-AA / 2006 C3
POSITION #5) FOAB-14B192-AA / 2006 C3

SO MY ADVISE IS CHECK YOUR INTERIOR FUSE PANEL AND IF YOU HAVE A YELLOW ONE AND ONE MISSING GIVE ME A CALL i HAVE AN ATTORNEY AND EVERYTHING AND I KNOW i AM NOT THE ONLY ONE. OMNE THING I FOUND INTERESTING IS THAT WHEN MY TRUCK MESSED UP THE NEEDLE ON MY SUPERCHARGER BOOST GAUGE STARTED JUMPING AROUND AND I NO LONGER COULD HEAR IT KICK IN BUT BECAUSE THE NEEDLE MOVED ON THE GAGE I ASSUMED IT WAS CONNECTED I THOUGHT THERE MIGHT BE A VACCUM LEAK BUT WAS SURE IT WAS CONNECTED. NOW I KNOW IT IS NOT BECAUSE IT IS THE 3RD RELLAY. WHEN I WAS PUTTING THE ORGINAL PARTS IN I HAD THE TWO TOP ONE SWITCHED AROUND WRONG AT FIRST AND IT WAS INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT WHEN THEY WERE IN THIS POSITION THE BOOST GAGE WENT ALL THE WAY TO 10 WITH NO POWER OR SOUND FROM THE SUPER CHARGER. ANYWAYS i KNOW THIS SOUNDS UNBELIEVABLE BUT IF YOU HAVE LOST POWER AND HAVE A YELLOW FUSE RELAY PLEASE CALL. THANKS, GIGI (562) 627-0305

Gigi,

The SoCal trucks are geting together this Saturday at Superior Automotive, to run their trucks on a dyno. You might consider running yours, and comparing it to the other trucks to show Ford that there IS a problem.

Just a thought.

Superior Automotive is in Anahiem, about 1 block south of the 91 FWY.

I have this in the following positions:
1. black with green dot
2. yellow
3. empty
4. black
5. black

Mine runs great, made a 13.7 @ 100 mph pass with a 2.2 60ft time bone stock. If it is weak now...hmmm...

How the heck would a relay have any effect on boost?!? Last I checked the supercharger is a belt driven part, not electrical. Even if it affected the boost dump, it would be simple to check by just disconnecting the solenoid wires, plus it would not show boost on the guage. Also, isn't the guage mechanical as well?

I don't think a missing relay is going to give a power boost to our trucks, as much as I wish it were true. Somebody let me know if I am wrong on what I could decipher of this post, my head is still hurting from the lack of punctuation and grammar.

sorry about grammer and punctuation but while your checking your fuse relays does anyone still have all five with the original parts numbers I listed??? I don't know how this could affect my truck but it does. I will tell you when my truck was runnning right it did have all five relays and it went from 0 to 100 in about 7 seconds it was awesome. at 120 I kicked in the supercharger and it hit 140 in like 2 seconds. I'm going to try and get my truck dynoed today with both sets of parts I'll keep y'all posted

Talking I'm Lost Too!

It sounds like there is a story here (someplace????), but like many others, I am lost as to what happened.

Your truck was brought in for service (why?) and when you got it back (?), there was a significant loss of performance?

What did they do? Do you have the service doc?

Then you noticed some fuses and relays were different than stock?

It sure seems that there are pieces of the story missing.

Why don't you take it somplace else and have them look it over?

Just trying to make sense of this...

I understand the post, I'm confused as to how new fuses created more power?

no not new fuses the original fuse relays, before the power loss and they are not really fuses they are fuse relays... only they are more than that, the schematics on the sides are totally different on the originals than they are on the ones that were snuck in and it is like they combined both the original relays #2 and #3 into the yellow one because on the original relay for #3 which has been disabled and I am positive governs the supercharger, has on it's side H8QTB and a schematic just like the one on the yellow one, except where there is a 3 on the yellow one there is a 30 on the original and where the is a 1 on the yellow one there is an 85 on the original and where there is a 4 on the yellow one there is a 87 on the original and where there is a 5 on the yellow one there is another 87 on the original and where there 2 on the yellow one there is a 86 on the original. so the yellow one has a totally different part number from the original #2 relay, is a different color, and also has the schematic and different numbering from the original #3 relay also the original #3 relay has PBT-GF20 so does the yellow one . and as to it happening at a dealership. NO. Zoran posted that incorrectly. It was not at a dealership it was parked where I was staying the summer at San Diego. If it happened at a dealership I wouldn't of left until it was put back right. The schematics on the sides of the original relays #1 and #2 are also totally different from the replaced ones, the original ones are very complicated and intricate while the one on the #1 replacement is very simple showing a 3 along a slightly inclining horizontal line ending at 4 and then what almost looks like a kings crown a short horizontal line then a drop below and then a zigzag from from 1 to 2. Pull the top black one and the yellow one and you will see what I mean, of course without the originals to compare against you won't see the difference but I am telling you that on the originals there are like little mazes with what I believe are transistors drawn into the schematic also( little like batteries drawn into the lines?) anyways definately not the same part and the proofs in the pudding, it runs like a V-8 again with the originals in except no super charger... just waiting for a call back from dyno guy. So again does anyone have all five black relays ??? in their 2002??? just wondering it'd be interesting to know and are the numbers the same as I've given?
