Chestnut...

I considered the Manik but it was too expensive and not as tough as it looks. The mounts are half as big as the mounts on the R-Hand.

As for the Westin, I didn't even check those because they aren't really even in the same class if I am thinking of the same one.

To cut to the chase, you will not find a better grille guard than a Ranch Hand. You probably haven't heard of them because they are local to the Texas hill country area and all along the mexican border where hitting deer and other animals is quite common and people work their trucks to the bone...You see them in Houston and Dallas also where people have money, ranches and/or both...

The only two guards I even considered other than the RHand were the Manik and WAAG and there really wasn't even a comparison.. Ask anyone who has true work trucks that run on the farm and have bump gates or the guys that hunt a lot and need a tough bumper and I guarantee you will Ranch Hand most, if not all of the time..

As for noise, mine is extremely quiet and makes no additional noise whatsoever.. None...

As for getting them painted already, Ranch Hand can and will get a bumper painted for you, obviously for a price - it is a custom thing regardless of where you go... They aim to please, give 'em a call on the 800 number from the picture... Have you checked out their website? Lotsa cool stuff with more in the store and in their catalog.. They are not a big place either, just damn good...
