I knew it....I knew it !!!

I learned many years ago not to crow too much about anything.

The minute you do, something comes back to bite you.

Well sure enough the day after I congratulated myself on the seat motor starting to work properly....the door locks stopped working !

Strangely enough, just the front doors.
Neither will respond to key pad or key fob operation., nor will they lock inside from either of the internal door switches.

All locks seem to be covered by one fuse so what could be happening.

At the moment I am reduced to using the old fashined key !

Using the key fob as I walk away from the car the horn beeps on the second press as it should, to confirm all doors locked, yet neither of the fronts are locked.

Any ideas ?

Take a look in the driver's side door jam for signs of water.

The symptoms you are describing sound similar to some of the problems seen when the splice gets wet. You could have had one get wet, then dry out, only to have another one get wet and stop working ( total SWAG ).

Worth a check, the wire color is different in a few of the posts, so best is to take out all the wires, and re do all of the 3 wire splices that are covered in something that looks like hockey tape.

If you had the issue with the power seat, and checked the fuse as OK, if you metered the power seat module, you would have found no power there.

I wish !!!!

Anyway....as someone suggested after 2 days of not working they are back in action !!!

HOWEVER...we have just had some of the worst weather in Britain for many years and really heavy snow here in mid Wales.

The morning the doors decided to work properly I was backing the Expy with very limited rear visibility and caught the drivers side door mirror on an overhanging branch..The mirror sprng forward as it is supposed to do but unfortunately the glass cracked right across.

The housing is fine....

Now for the request....Could some very kind person over there (Brad, or someone equally kind).....find out the cost of the mirror glass if ordered from a dealer or any other source you may know of)

Its a 2005 KR Expy.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can assist.

Someone just asked that same question in the 2004-2008 forum

https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...de-mirror.html

Just look up the part using the 2006 MY ( last MY of the 2004-2006 run ) and follow the path in the thread.

There is an option for W/heat powerfold for some reason. It could be the glass is different, best to ask when you get the shipping costs, if you are ordering from the states. The pricing examples I gave in the other thread are from Tasca.

Don't know if you will have a chance to look at the driver's side door sill, to check for the splices. The garages I saw in England ( when I was there in OCT-08 ) were too small to fit the truck in to begin with, let alone open the door and work on it.
