'05 Instrument Cluster

I recently got an 05 F150 King Ranch 4X4. On the instrument cluster (were the gears would be written if the shifter was on the column) it says lariat instead of king ranch. I know i have seen several other 150's that said king ranch there(im not sure if they were 05's, they could have been 06 or 07), and i was wondering why mine says lariat?? Has anybody else seen this?
And also i wanted to know if there is a way to get it to say king ranch other than just replacing the entire cluster? I would guess you can buy the name plate, but any guesses to how much it would cost?
Thanks for the help

our 08 says KING RANCh for sure there.

i did an 04 or 05 at work and am almost positive it said king ranch there as well.

now on my f250, the badge says f250 lariat with the king ranch oval next to it.

Interesting, my '05 dashboard says King Ranch, so I'd guess that's what it's really supposed to say. The previous owner gave me the window sticker, along with the maintenance records and it says: "2005 F-150 4X4 King Ranch Lariat 139" WB Styleside", so the KR was obviously considered a trim level to the Lariat.

I have no idea if you can replace that part of the dash. Replacing the entire dash opens a can of worms, because the PATS key transponder is in there and your present keys would not work with the new dash.

My insurance company (farmers ins)has my truck as a lariat, they have no finding of a king ranch in there system. Maybe we just have a upgraded lariat package.

The Lariat piece is an easy swap out. The King Ranch piece is under $20 at the dealer, and clips into the instrument cluster from the bottom.

Lucky man, I dunno about your insurance company, but with mine it costs more to insure a King Ranch package as opposed to a lesser package such as the Lariat.

Yea i had a few go arounds with them when i got mine and they had no record of a king ranch at all in there system! I was worried if the truck got totalled that i wouldnt get as much for it, I called my salesman at the ford house and he said to not worry about that cause there is just a 2-300 dollars difference on the retail of the lariat and the KR of my year. So i just let it slide
