Anyone replaced their powered slider motor?

Hi guys.......the powered rear slider in my '05 KR has stopped working.......I diagnosed it as being a bad motor so I ordered a new one.........the thing I cannot figure out is how to release the cables from the sliding portion of the window to swap out the motor........

Anyone have any experience with this motor replacement they can share?

Have a great Christmas week you guys!:santa:

I haven't swapped this part before but look at the replacement motor and see how it will secure the cables. Then, loosening the existing cables from the broken motor shouldn't be so hard. You may have to remove the motor first before loosening the cables.

And have a great Christmas week too.

Wow! This is the first time I've seen a post on this subject. I'm really sorry I have no idea how to help but maybe, if we keep this thread alive, someone will have some ideas. BIG_ole_TRUCK's idea seemed a good start, was it any help?

Mine quit working too. Ford wants about $500 to fix it. I would love for someone to tell me a cheap way to fix it myself.

Maybe to more of a technical thread? Where it would get some viewage? If it aint about seats, it wont get fixed here.

CR Laurence used to supply the rear sliders for Ford (I'm not sure if they still do) but you may want to touch base with them about the motor/availability.... at minimum, they may be able to steer you the right way for a reasonably priced replacement and/or fix....

I can try and take some pictures of an assembly we have at my shop. I probably have 5 or 6 since everyone breaks the window and never wants to keep the old motor assembly. The middle sliding glass has a plastic frame on the bottom. If you look on both ends of the glass, there is a small extension that holds the cable end and this is where you need to hook up your new cable system. Doing this with the window in the truck is the toughest part. From experience I also know that when you mess with the ends on that bottom frame, there is a chance that it could break(pull through to where its unable to hold a cable any longer). I know that this post is already a month old, but if you would still like some input, I can try and take some pics.
