I was on the highway this past weekend and had an opportunity to open my '08 KR F150 up and I noticed that after I hit 100MPH it felt as if I hit a wall...is there a governor on my truck?

 

Yes, between 95 and 100. It is a limiting setting in the computer. You can get a tuner and remove it if it's important to you.

 

What tuner would you recommend and what is the cost? Is this something I can take to a speed shop that might already have a tuner and have this removed?

 

You need to check out the tuner forum. It's the very first forum listed. The 3 popular tuners are the Edge, Gryphon and Xcal3. They each have some advantages or do something a little different. I had the Edge and then swithced to the Gryphon tunes.

If the speed limiter is all you will change, if I were you, I would just live with that limitation. A tuner does so much more, but it can possibly void your warranty.

I get my tunes from Troyer Performance... I would allow NO ONE other than Mike to tune my truck (but, that's just me... )

Despite the tuner war, I didn't realize this was a King Ranch issue, lol. Just because...
