Care for 2009 King Ranch leather

Sorry for this being another leather question.

I have just traded my 2006 King Ranch for a 2009. I know that most of you are aware of the chaparral leather used in the new trucks. My question is what is the care procedure for this new leather? Is it the same as before or have things changed?

I will say the truck drives just wonderful. The mileage is better so far and it is quieter than my other truck. I could go on and on but so far I give it a very high grade.

Also I am not new to this forum although I have not posted a lot in the past. I had to register again to get back on. This is a great forum and I have enjoyed reading the various entries that are made. I am always trying to learn something new.

Anyway I will await the answer to my leather question.

Good luck on an answer for this one, but glad you like your truck!

The stuff is just too new. What did the owner's manual say? I suspect Leather CPR wouldn't hurt it though. I wonder if the KR Leather Conditioner is good for it too? Are they offering anything new for Chaparral?

You'll notice I often just "think out loud" when I don't have a useful answer. Comes with age, I guess. :o

In the past new KR trucks always had a card attached to the leather somewhere giving care advice for the upholstery and also promoting the use of KR conditioner.
Is that not the case with the new Chaparral leather ?

Actually I could find nothing that states what to use on the leather. I did ask the salesman and he said to use the King Ranch Leather Conditioner. I kind of figured that was just a standard salesman answer. So I figured perhaps I should dig a little deeper to try to find better answer. Should I say a correct answer?

I don't need to treat them right away but I would like to know what to buy when it is time. On the last truck I used the King Ranch stuff and had no real complaints about it. But I don't want to use the obviously wrong stuff on any leather.

I guess I will just wait and see if anybody has a direct answer to this question.

The owners manual should have a section on leather care.

I agree about the owner's manual but I have not seen anything it about leather care. I have written for off their website. Let's see what they have to say.

Okay you win!

After more reading I have found that Ford does recommend the King Ranch Leather Conditioner or other premium conditioner for the '09's.

It is in the owner''s manual. So that is the end of the question.

What does the new chaparral leather look like?

Is is a sealed type leather or is it still a soft supple leather?

It is not sealed leather. That's, I am sorry, the best I can explain it.

I just wanted to report that I treated the leather with King Ranch Leather Conditioner this evening and it is just beautiful. I know that my last King Ranch did not look this nice after a treatment. Now I know this is personal preference so don't get on me making a statement like that. I guess the bottom line is that I think the KR Conditioner works prefect on the Chapparal leather.
